I've started replacing bits from my Forstner set. The Freud / Diablo happened to be on sale and purchased the size I needed. I have to say I will continue replacing any in the future with this brand. Great design, penatrates quickly and prevents skipping. Good chip removal also. Even if they may be slightly more expensive they are well worth it.

Just want the 3/4 one for bench dog, buy the pack to save money in case I need other diameters.The 3/4 one works perfectly and matches all my bench dog accessories.

I have a set of Forstner bits from Freud not Diablo.I needed some spare 1/4 bits for a project in oak that needed to make quality round splinter free holes about 100 of them. I was surprised to get Diablo and almost returned them but then I saw they were actually a division of Freud. They did the job even though they had burrs on the cutting edges which I touched up with a diamond stone before using. The grind was a bit coarse and after 100 holes one got dull but still was making good holes. Even the original Freud was getting rolled cutting edges so I saw no difference in steel material used in the bits. Even the grind was the same on both, a bit coarse and unfinished. These are disposable bits, to small to resharpen so they are really throw away tools. They did the job but I can’t help but wonder if there was a better steel and a better grind they might last longer. While these got me through the job I will keep looking for a better quality tool.

I needed to counterbore holes in closet doors to install some flush door pulls. The pulls measured 60mm. This bit was perfect for cutting those holes. I put some blue painters tape on the door before cutting the hole. The finished holes were cut cleanly with minimal effect using a power drill.

Loved it. It did what I needed it for.

Diablo holds up very well and I'm always happy with their products. A good price for a good forstner bit which at the hardware store is that least double the price.
