Great buy! It's worth it.
Instructions on the product is easy to follow. Great pair with my white melgard vinyl sliding door. I'm very satisfied. A sturdy product with all accessories included. I have difficulty on the locks. My original lock can't reach the latch that comes with this product.

Should have bought this a long time ago
Very nice, well constructed door. We have three large labs of various ages and they were all using the door consistently within about 3 days. They basically had to learn to a) commit - don't start going through it and then try to back up and b) timing matters - don't get too close to the dog that went before you, or you may get hit in the head with the flap :-)Overall, really glad we got this and it has eliminated our job as "door man".I took off one star (probably only should be 1/4 - 1/2 star) for two reasons. 1) While assembling, I had a very difficult time snapping in the final trim/seal pieces. It definitely wasn't going as easy as it did in the video. I didn't want to force it for fear of breaking it. I finally decided to use a rubber mallet and very gently tapped it until I could see it was fully in place. Not a big deal, but would have just been nice if that had been stated in the manual. 2) I would like it if the door was 4 inches taller. One of our dogs is pretty long-legged and he kind of has to croach to get through it. This was the biggest size door offered on Amazon. He doesn't seem to mind, but I'm just a little concerned what might happen if he tries to go charging through it, or when he gets older.

Tough assemble. Works great if you can get it in
Just like the other reviews, handyman husband ran into snags assembling. Made some creative adjustments to get the job done. Took an entire day. Finished product is exactly what we hoped for and looks nice. Only complaint is dog door height is quite high off the ground and doggie door size is a bit tight. We have a corgi and ordered the largest size doggie door and it is perfect size for a medium dog. The height off the ground was making it tough on him to have to jump in and out so we’ve built a small ramp which has solved that problem. Pop

Recommended, high quality, take your time with the installation.
Ordered this for a new house, with a very tall 94" sliding glass door. This took about a half day to install. Did most of it on my own but had a helper and I recommend two people to get it done efficiently. As we are planning to stay in this house awhile, I wanted to take my time and do a good job on it. Measuring is very very important on this project - do not estimate, and make sure you measure twice, accurately. There is one step where you must ensure a 5/16" measure. Use a clear plastic ruler for this step. Also, getting your old door to latch up to the new pet door panel can be tricky - we needed to install more spacers and that solved our problem. Overall, you should be fine to get this done on your own if you follow the instructions and also, download the youtube video from the manufacturer, which really helped. You will need all the tools they describe in the instructions. The nice thing about this is that it appears to be very high quality, almost like purchasing a new window, with double pane glass and a really sturdy pet entrance. A final note, you will want to purchase weatherproof, white caulking at a hardware store and go over all of the seams for the pet door on the outside, at least. I did that today and will likely go over the inside as well. They also include an insulating strip that you install from your sliding door to the fixed glass (since your sliding door will no longer rest flush against the fixed glass). Hope this information is helpful.

Tough install
This is a very nice pet door, however! Installation instructions are not particularly clear. Called the company and they were very nice and pretty helpful. Offered directions not listed on the written instructions. You will need a hacksaw and a rubber mallet to complete installation.

Great option to cutting permanent holes in your walls.
Well made, great customer service. Very weather proof and closes tight no draft or bugs. Make sure you measure twice and cut once and use a t- square to ensure the cut end is square. Our standard Poodle loves it! I would recommend this door to anyone that doesn’t want to cut holes in their walls. If you move you can take it with you provided the sliding door is the same size.

Good Quality but Poor Fit; Slider Doesn't Lock
The door is great quality, sturdy and well made. Installation is not easy; it took 2 professional handymen with experience installing dog doors almost 3 hours to fit it. I bought white to match my white vinyl Milgard sliding door and it looks beautiful. The devil is in the details. My sliding door locking mechanism does not line up with the dog door no matter how much they monkeyed with it. As a woman alone, this is a major security concern. Also you will need to buy good quality sticky flexible weather proofing strips. Even with that, I don't have a close fit between the dog door and my sliding door. Considering the expense of this door, I expected better.

I liked, but little things
we just moved and we have vinyl doors. I found this door was much better than the aluminum doors and had better hardware to set up for latching door. had to use some washer to bring out the latch so the lock would catch. there weren't enough spacers included. and the other reason not 5 stars is the weather strip they gave to close the gap on the door didn't stick for long maybe 24 hours.
