Buy it; very high-quality knife at a great price point
It has some heft, which I like and want in this type of knife. I bought it primarily to butcher whole chickens, and it does not disappoint. With its sharpness from the box, the knife effortlessly goes through chicken joints and cartilage. It is a great value, priced under fifty dollars, and I highly recommend it. If you purchase it, please be careful. The knife is extremely sharp.

Great beginner deba
Bought this a few years ago as a cheap way to get started learning how to cut fish in a Japanese restaurant. Didnt want to spend a lot on a knife while i was still learning how to use a Deba. But i get compliments on this knife in so many restaurants by so many chefs, and theyre shocked how cheap it was from amazon! Weight is great and durable steel that wont chip easily... the only reason its not 5 stars is because it was not delivered with the proper edge. it helps to be experienced sharpening single bevel knives to really get the best from this knife. The Uraoshi (on the concave side of the knife, the top of the knife and the edge) was not level. Took a decent amount of time on a low grit stone to even it out but its durable steel and now it holds an edge pretty well! Great find

The knife we were missing
It cuts through the fish bones beautifully and allows us to do our own fish cleaning much better than they do at the fish market. Good quality and easy to use

Sharpeness! Very!
I like the sharpeness and sturdiness of the blade! Just to be careful when using, you can get cut and then is too late.

Handle is for bigger hands
I have baby monkey hands, so the feel of the grip is a little big for me, but the blade length is perfect for utility kitchen prep and it’s held up all this time later.

Good compliment to western style fillet knife
Have been using Victorinox fillet knives to clean fish. They are sharp when new, flexible, and thing. Perfect for skinning fish, or fillet, but does not hold the edge, nor does well cutting through bones. Deba is the opposite, thick, harder, heavier. Good at filleting, extremely good at cutting through bones. Can use to skin a fish, but not as easy as Victorinox. So i have to use both kind of knife to make my and their lives easier.

Couteau de forme traditionnelle deba. L aiguisage est à revoir entièrement ( + polissage) la mitre est en plastique en plus , ce qui casse un peux l elegance. Bon , je recherchais un couteau puissant et celui est conforme a mes attentes et l acier est de bonne qualité.

It's not very sharp right from the start. It is very unbalanced in the hand. If you're not comfortable with a heavy knife edge, I would not use this knife in a professional setting. The haft looks nice.

Buon coltello deba ben bilanciato e pesante quanto deve esserlo, dato il prezzo ovviamente il manico non è dei più belli ma poco importa...acciaio resistente e di facile affilatura su pietra, cosa che dovrà essere fatta spesso soprattutto nella parte della lama verso il nodo
