As a beginning to slightly more intermediate carver, patterns are required. I cannot pick up a block and release the item from the wood. I can sort of draw, but if I want something that looks like what another person would think was the representation of something they had actually seen or imagined before, I need a pattern.This is a book of patterns. Frankly some are a bit beyond me, that is not their fault. All look like they will work out, I have done a few and they worked out.

I love all of the carved pieces. Whether or not I try my hand at carving, this is a cutter book for Christmas display.

Good book

This is an excellent book for all levels. There are two step by steps which are great for any one getting started. I would rate myself as an intermmediate carver and this book grades patterns from beginner to master. I have no fear and will eventually jump into one of these master projects in the immediate future.

This book is beautiful and gives very nice directions for the various projects. I got it for myself and then was given some carving tools as a gift. Very nice for those who are interested in quality handmade crafts.

Patterns for more advanced carvers. Must solder some parts like antlers, chair rockers and sleigh runners.

This is a great book for the beginner Whittler or wood carver.It helps you to understand how and why certain cuts are made with the the tools you use come into play.Like I said this is a great way for the beginner wood carver.

Nice clear pictures some good ideas
