Has a learning curve but works great!
First try with pork chops wasnโt a real success. It will just chew up the chop if you keep turning. Doesnโt pull the chop into it by itself. I had to push the chop down hard into it while I turned. 2nd try I did like other said and tried it with the meat partially frozen. This did work a lot better and I did at times still had to push the meat down into it while turning the handle. I do wish there was some way to adjust how much it Pierce into the meat. So your cuts can remain thicker. Also it did instantly start to show so rust marks when I washed it. To quickly dry it I now use a blow dryer.

Great for making pork tenderloins
Works great for making pork tenderloins. I only wish it came apart to clean better but for what its worth its great overall.

Poor quality control. Had to modify.
The bolt hole to attach the crank handle was too large with no threads. Instead of sending it back I tapped the hole for a larger bolt and attached the handle. Works quite well.

Works like a charm!
This little guy has just worked like a charm every time. Very easy to clean. You cannot overload it and the meat needs to bed fed in one piece at a time. Meat also needs to be sliced thin. We are very happy with this purchase.

In concept it's good, flawed in design
I am the chef in a small kitchen for a retirement community and food safety must always be in the sights went handling food to feed the elderly which was the reason I purchased this. Pounding chicken does impose certain cross contamination risks with the potential for raw chicken/juice splatter. Don't pound enough chicken to justify the cost of a commercial electric tenderizer. In theory, this should be a perfect tool for my purpose. When first looking it over, I seriously thought it would be perfect, since it didn't have blades, but bumps much like the larger bumps on a tenderizer mallet. Not knowing what to expect, I first tried a breast half that was not completely defrosted, it chewed up the first thinner part and then just stopped feeding. Then I tried a fully defrosted breast, choosing the thinnest on of the case of breast, it just mangled it. All it does is grind up the chicken and if I wanted a meat grinder, I would have purchased a meat grinder. Might be ok with a piece of shoe leather beef, but for this thing to work on typical 4oz commercial chicken breast from Sysco or other commercial supplier the the tenderizing barrels or whatever you call them in this unit would need to spaced further apart. If you are planning to use this for chicken, save yourself the headache and keep looking. If for beef or other tougher meat, then I wish you luck and this might work for you. I have never returned anything to Amazon before, so this is a first as I am returning it.

Good quality and easy to clean
This will turn an ordinary boneless pork chop into a delicious tenderloin in seconds. Great for other cuts as well. Super easy to clean. We ours all the time.

This product works well with meat and seafood. worth my money and glad i got the stainless steel grinders.

I'd buy it again
This is a very easy to use piece of kitchen equipment and does a nice job of tenderizing. It doesn't cut through the meat as much as I would like (like the cubed beef at the markets), but it does help immensely to tenderize. Easy to use...very easy to clean and all metal parts except for the cover.
