A bit pricier but worth it!
Really glad I decided to pay a bit more and buy this particular chair. We have lesser models at the office but this one in my home could see some time because it's for one of the rooms with a TV. It is a quality item that was packed well, easy to assemble, and comfortable. One of the great features is the recline control. Tighten it and it stays put. Other reviews warn of having to hunt for the recliner handle washer... I did, too. It got loose from the packing and hid itself under a flap in the box. If you buy this chair, don't throw the box out until you're sure you have all the parts because without that special washer, the recliner won't lock in place as it should. Overall: Looks great and comfortable!

Comfortable, great value
The chair is both stylish and comfortable for me. I think it's a good value for the price and seems to be sturdy enough to last a long while. My son however is over 6ft tall and it may be a bit small for someone his size. We did have an issue with delivery as the driver dropped off the box at a barn away from our property for some odd reason, but customer service immediately helped us track it down as we never would have looked for it there. The seller was very prompt to reply and as noted very helpful.

comfortable and stylish
I really like this recliner. It was delivered very quickly, easy to assemble, and looks great in a mid-century modern setting. The covering might be cheap leather or vinyl, I'm not sure, but it looks like it will take a lot of use. I am not too exited about the ottoman. I think it is angled too steeply but overall, it is a nice, comfortable recliner. The headrest could be padded a bit more but I'm very tall so it could be ok for regular folks.

Great recliner and easy assembly
Bought this chair to replace a Mac Motion that was about 15 years old. I was surprised at how easy it was to assemble. All of the hardware needed, including allen wrenches, was nicely laid out in molded clear plastic cases, making identification of pieces shown in the 9-step instructions easy. The next to last step is installation of the arm rests and for some reason I reversed them left-for-right and had a heck of a time getting the bolts to line up and noticed the seat seemed narrow. Then when looking at the picture on Amazon in preparation for writing my review, I realized the error and was able to reverse them to their proper position quickly. Amazing how much easier things go when you get the assembly right! Seat is much wider now and matches my old Mac Motion. I've had some back issues in the past and this chair gives good low back support and is very comfortable. Everything about it suggests high quality and from the attention to detain -- including use of blue locking compound on some important bolts -- I'm hopeful it will last a long time. It reclines back further than my Mac Motion ever did and I really like the piston-assisted storage under the ottoman cover too. I put small furniture sliders under the six ottoman "legs" to make it easier to move the ottoman on our carpeted floor. It is redder than it appears in the Amazon photo which, for us, is a good thing; just the color we were hoping it would be. Finally, I can't believe how quickly it was delivered; in only about 4 days via FedEx ground. If I could give it six stars, I would. If anything changes, I'll be sure and update this review.

8 month update
Update: After 8 months of use, I can honestly say the foam used is not the best quality. The ottoman now will not recover it's shape.--where the feet rest , it is caved in. Chair is used by a person that weighs 120 lbs and is 5'6" tall. I suppose a person could replace the foam (there is a zipper on the cover ). Also find that sitting in this chair more than 2 hours is uncomfortable on back and buttocks. I have placed latex pillows on the chair seat and chair back to make it more comfortable. Chair has no lumbar support. Other than that, it still looks okay but the pillows detract from it's modern appearance. Original review: the provided Allen wrench is of little use, when you attach the arms. It's a tight fit and a PITA. I put this together without any help, you can too. I laid the chair on it's side-- to screw on the arms, no way that was gonna happen otherwise. Other than that, I have nothing negative to say about this chair. It's not a 'sink into' type of chair, the seat and the back are firm, which is exactly what I wanted. The chair is nicely made, no loose threads, no scuffs or scratches, no funky odors. It was packed very well--both the chair and ottoman in one big box, that fit easily through my front door. I like the small footprint of this chair, it looks great in my home office.

Happy with this chair!
Quick delivery. Two person assembly is so much easier that one person fiddling with it. Not too heavy, just a bit bulky and awkward for one person to deal with. Picture based assembly instructions. No length in instructions for bolts, but close to self explanatory. I ordered this chair despite the warnings by some reviewers about it being too narrow for them...well, it is about 4 inches narrower than my old lounger and I still have 1.5 inches on each side when sitting in it. I am 5' 9" and weight 230 pounds, being wide in the waist, but narrow in the arse! Very comfy to sit in. Foot rest is more comfortable than that of my old swingarm lounger. Decent lumbar support, my old chair had none! Leatherlike cover feels soft, smooth, and subtle. I looked at a few much more expensive chairs, and am happy I purchased this one! It looks nice and even matches my Turkish style rug. This chair will stay where I put it, not like my previous one which kept sliding all around.

I measure 5'4", am petite and over 70 years of age. I assembled this chair by myself in about 1.5 hours. The instructions were sufficient, the assembly simple. My livingroom is rather small and was concerned that the chair + the Ottoman would be overwhelming. However, the sleekness of the chair design blends and fit my space perfectly well. The quality workmanship, the beauty of the design and comfort of the chair are outstanding. The chair swivels easily, reclines comfortably and sufficiently (it is not a bed). The underside handle determines how loose or tight the reclining is but does not affect the swiveling which is free on the shaft. The platform is absolutely magnificent in design. This is not leather therefore must be treated gently if it is to last long. If there were no ottoman, the chair height would be a bit too high (at 19") for me, as floor to crease of the knees my height is 18". The chair depth is just perfect for me at 19.5". Inside the armrests the distance is 21 and the back's height is 26". Measuring 5'4" the crease of the neck falls perfectly on the chair pillow. The armrests are 4.5" wide and about 6" high from the seat. There are maintenance instructions to use mild soap on a damp cloth (no detergents or alkaline soaps), not sure what "alkaline soap" would be. Avoid sun and heater vent exposure. One must remember it is not the good old leather which can no longer be found. At least not at this reasonable price.

Delivery was almost a week before expected, so WOW!! Chair seems pretty good, and took me a couple of hours to put together. Damn but I hate Allen keys. Much prefer a bolt, nut, and wrench. But now I've got a comfortable chair to last me a good few years, particularly if it's really the leather they claim and not pleather (feaux leather). Colour is good, and goes back far enough for a great afternoon nap. Edit Later: Despite the information provided, a message from Benchmaster, the manufacturer, says clearly, "All the cushions for this chair model are made of PU material, not leather." So no matter what claims are made on the web page, this chair is completely faux leather, i.e. pleather, i.e. fake leather, i.e. false leather just as false as the claims about it. Mine is fully assembled and the packing materials have been recycled, so there's no chance of managing a return. But I know now Never to buy from here again!

The chair arrived several days earlier than anticipated. We needed to assemble it which took my husband and I an hour and 15 minutes. It is a beautiful chair, well-made and comfortable. It is of very good quality. My husband loves it.

These chairs are for TV watching. I gave them three stars because I find them uncomfortable and stiff for a night of TV watching. Service and delivery from the company is excellent.

Easy to assemble and the instructions were very easy to understand and everything fit. In my opinion a very well manufactured chair and my wife loves it! Very comfortable. I rarely write reviews, but after 2 months of usage, I thought I should. Well done BenchMaster! Brad - St Thomas, ON
