Will rust over time, return spring will eventually fail, but it is still the best for measuring vertical distance.

I have measured thousands of trees and palm trunks with Spencer logger's tapes. It is very durable. I make sure to check the tightness of the screws on the case every few weeks.

I’ve used these in the past, great tapes, solid, quality.They sell replacement tape robin for when you can’t read your numbers anymore.

Great Tape, just wish it would have come with Nail loop already on the end attached, now i have to purchase another kit, and then rivet it myself.
