Great DMR radio
I did not use the included software for long but it seemed easy enough to use. I flashed it with the opengd 77 firmware to get slightly more functionality and an easier to navigate menu. It has worked well talking on a pi-star repeater, very clear and no static even when 100 foot away with a building between. Your mileage may vary based on conditions. So far a very decent radio to have as a backup or to talk with digitally on repeaters and hot spots. Battery lasts a decent amount of time as well at minimal transmit power.

Rugged little radio
Great audio quality. Factory software on radio not that great. Recommend installing open gd77. Then this radio is a powerhouse.

Do not Buy!!!
First the cd the comes with the radio does not work, I have tried server pc and CD's. Went the the AmazonAws web site and download the software, The drives does not work. I also tried several PC's Windows 7 and Windoes 10. Google for other drives and could not get andy of the drives to work. I email support for TYT and have not heard back. No instructions on installing the drives or how to fix the drives issue. A waste of money and time Over 3 days trying to get it to work.

Great Dual Band Radio
I really like the programming software and also found it compatible with the DMRCodeplug editor software (makes it easy to re-arrange the order of channels and copy them from other codeplug files). The battery last a long time while listening in standby. The scan is fast and I like that it goes to the last channel with traffic when keyed from scanning. Overall fit and finish are great. It certainly feels like a solid radio that will take some abuse. I converted the radio to BNC using an adapter found here on amazon and also converted the antenna. Now both are compatible with all of my other radios. I liked it so much I purchased a second one to leave in the trunk.

Not a superhet receiver and the programming software is a bit hard to use.
Great radio! Works well for me so far. I had to export the codeplug from my RD-5R, modify it in Excel and the import it into the codeplug for the TYT - Not too hard. I've got good reports from others and Parrot. It's a good radio so far, but I've owned it less than a week. EDIT - Still my favorite radio after a month. Loaded 100,000 contacts on it, and it works flawlessly. I always get good reports. Two minor complaints: The audio output is a bit less than I like, but I'm nearly deaf and the plastic is a bit soft and dents a bit when dropped. It takes being dropped from four feet multiple times just fine.

Great Radio Bad supplier
This unit was shipped with an incorrect cable. I contacted support and got a very nice procedure to get correct drivers installed. UNFORTUNATELY for the wrong cable/radio. The support is essentially non-existent from this vendor.Do yourself a favor and purchase the same unit branded by RETEVIS as the RT3S. They have good on-line support and software/firmware downloads. OBTW I used my RT Systems USB-74 cable and it worked immediately. Also, don't forget to reset the unit before you try to program it (google how to reset TYT MD UV390 (GPS) if you have the GPS feature).73s

Great solid DMR radio
Outstanding DMR radio. Solid construction, and good and heavy in your hand. Professional appearance and feel. Very nice package for this dual band radio. The TYT CPS programming software is similar to other CPS style programs and is intuit and relatively easy to learn; although, the programming for each channel needs to be typed in individually (unless you have a good code plug from your local DMR).One programming caveat: CHIRP does not support this radio model, so you cannot download batch of analog repeaters into this radio. All analog channels needs to be manually entered or converted to database file for import. The only signficant fault: This radio has GPS, but it is not APRS compatible. The APRS can only be accessed via DMR link. Otherwise, this radio does not interact directly with APRS. DMR is not GPS oriented.

second unit. still problems
This is the second unit I have recieved. Unit will work on 2 meters, but in DMR mode, it sends signal to router, and doesn't transmit when it gets the OK to transmit. Tried on 3 different repeaters, and had a qualified tech check it out. Won't be buying one of these again! just want my money back.
