Great alterative to a chest strap; great customer support; better than the Polar.
Original review (2018): Really like this so far. I got it because it was annoying to wear a chest strap when biking. I wear this when riding outside or on Zwift or when checking HRV in the morning. Fits comfortably. Doesn’t slip. Seems to track accurately. Once it read very high initially but settled in quickly after i adjusted it on my arm. Haven’t had any of the problems referenced by other reviewers. The iOS app is fine but i only used it initially. I ordered 2 more for use in other locations. Update (2020) : I now own 4 of these for use in various places. I will never go back to chest straps again. I've used them road biking, mountain biking, and on indoor trainers & treadmills. They are reliable and last. I disagree with reviewers who say they aren't accurate or have dropouts. I've never had problems with either issue. If there is a drop out it is usually due to poor positioning on the arm (user error). Out of the 4 units that I have, one recently failed after ~2 years of use. I think it was a battery issue as it crapped out on a ride and then would not hold a charge (although the charging light blinked). After a few tries it wouldn't even show the charging light. I emailed Scosche via their website and they responded within 24 hours. They helped me resolve a firmware update issue with another unit (user error again; I stopped the app midway through a firmware update) and then, after I sent a requested video of the unresponsive unit, they sent a replacement which I received in a matter of days. I was super happy with the customer service accessibility and response. While waiting for the replacement I had tried a Polar OH1+, but I don't like it compared to the Scosche. The Polar is smaller & lighter but it is less comfortable as the strap presses the small circular monitor into your arm instead of being even and spread out like the Scosche. The Polar charger, while small and simple, is fiddly and easy to lose. The battery life on the Polar is 50% of the Scosche's as well. I'll be sticking with the Scosche.

Great HR Monitor
I bought this to replaced my older model Scosche HR monitor that became our dog's chew toy unfortunately. This works with iFit/Nordic Track equipment. I wear it on my forearm and it fits well. Though I do prefer the older Velcro type armband to this adjustable size band. Having to slide it over your hand and for some like me, a wrist watch, is a little less convenient. Regardless though, it's a great product and I'm very happy with it. I have only used the Heart Rate functions but for some the addition modes could be useful. The Scosche App works just fine for times you are not pairing it as a Bluetooth device to iFit or similar equipment. I highly recommend it and would buy one again if I needed to replace it. And I just learned that Scosche sponsors Pro Motocross Champion Jason Anderson. So what's not to like?

Great hardware but bad software and firmware
Generally, I think this product owns the best hardware, comfortable, accurate, long battery life, extremely responsive that follows the chest band with only 1 to 2 seconds delay, very impressive. For the hardware itself, I can say it is a no-brainer chest band alternation for sports, training, and competition. Functional-wise, it is also perfect, can store the heart rate offline in the device itself, and the LED indicator to show your heart rate zone is a perfect function for the racers. You don't need to check your watch how many beats you stay right now, just check the LED color on this device, and that's it. Easy and convenient. For the build quality, it is just average. Feels very thin, not solid at all, and feels fragile in my mind. But, the software and the firmware destroyed this product. For me, the firmware already up to date, but I met the problem if I paired it with ANT+ devices such as Garmin Edge 1030 or FR935, then the heart rate signal will drop off for both ANT+ and BLE channels. I believe the device still captures the HR beats value, but will not transfer the value via the channels. I can guarantee I wear it perfectly. When the signal drops off, the LED indicator also is messed up. It just looks like the device itself stop responding for a while. This is extremely annoying. The software itself looks like created in 2000s, not good at all. Also, no version can be used for IPAD pro, even if you try to use the compatible mode like other apps did (such as Garmin Connect, on IPAD pro, it can only run under compatible mode). Interesting. It is just some minor changes with the software then it can support the IPADs, but no, we don't have the choice. Maybe this is not a big deal, since most of the time use the software only to setup the heart zone, the sport mode, etc. But you need to be aware that, this device does not support multiple BLE connections. So, if you use BLE to connect to the IPAD for ZWIFT, then you want to configure the sport mode for other intentions, you need to terminate the ZWIFT and then use the mobile phone to configure that. After that, if you want to back to ZWIFT, you need to turn off the mobile phone's Bluetooth to terminate the BLE connection permanently then you can connect to your PAD again. If this product can make the plastic shell thicker, feels more solid, resolve the firmware drop-off issue, and provide better mobile apps, I think this one will be the armband HR device leader for sure. But now, I would recommend the Polar one since that is more stable, never drop-off, and is reliable.

great concept arm band HR monitor with basic FLAWS
Purchased this device after a lot of research. It is the only arm band HR monitor that I could find that is bluetooth and ANT+ standard WITH onboard memory to record the workouts and not requiring a smartphone and/or a watch. - all this is a PLUS for its features. My main intent was to use this device during my swim sessions to monitor my heart rate. TWO NEGATIVES #1) The saved files time stamp are way off. For example, I swam at 6pm to 7pm. When I went to sync, the time stamp showed aS 12:30pm. This gets very confusing as earlier in the day, I did a different activity and recorded that too. I am unable to distinguish what HR is for what activity. #2) when HR is seen on apple health, I had 106 HR recording for a given minute. Seems this device is recording HR every 1/2 second. Wow, that's a LOT of data gathering. I certainly want to know what my heart rate is but not so excessive to a point I find my self scrolling endlessly, just to the what was my HR just 30 minutes ago. Imagine the number of entries to go through if I wanted to scroll back several hours. Spoke with customer service, they weren't aware of excessive HR entries being created but the incorrect time stamp issue is related to firmware. Hopefully, they will address the excessive HR entries, either through firmware and/or their app. Given this product is relatively new so I can expect some bugs but I am surprised they (R&D or QA dept) didn't see fix the incorrect time stamp when importing data. If I am not mistaken, another reviewer pointed out the incorrect time stamp issue as well. I liked so many things about this device, but for now, I will return this device. It is not quite ready for my needs. Perhaps, at some point down to road when all the kinks are worked out, I will consider purchasing it again. For now, I will go with a chest strap. Those are tried and true for delivering the data I am after.

Accurate non-chest strap heart rate monitor
I have a Garmin watch that has a built in heart rate monitor that is not accurate or have a fast enough response. I never rely on it at all, instead using a chest strap which I then connect via ANT+ whenever I exercise or work out. I wore this Scosche Rhythm 24, and, by golly, it was so close (nearly identical) to my chest strap. I had the Scosche connected to my phone to show heart rate, and the chest strap heart rate monitor to my Garmin watch. The chest strap is still a little more responsive (when I tried to exert a little more), but within seconds, the Scosche (on the phone) is displaying what the chest strap is showing on the watch - to within a beat or two (the arm band lags by a few seconds, but then after that, it's right there with the chest strap). Far cry from the built in of the Garmin watch (wrist). So, this review is really only for the accuracy part, as that was the only thing I was after. Great alternative to a chest strap (though I'm keeping and using both, but sometimes, the arm band is just more convenient, especially when taking my Morpheus HRV reading first thing in the morning, as putting on a chest strap at that time is a hassle).

Not as good as my Wahoo
I bought this as it said it has ability to measure HRV and I needed to start measuring it every morning for my coach. However, the "secondary" main purpose I bought this was to be an additional HR monitor I could keep in my gym bag. On my first run with this HR monitor, it held a steady reading at the beginning however it then dropped out several times and had VERY strange spikes (I was running slowly so keeping pretty steady at 130bpm). It dropped off completely and then jumped up to 164, held for awhile then back down to 130. 164 for me is running a high zone 3 so that was definitely not accurate. I ran with this a few other times and got the same issues. For the majority of my runs, the readings held pretty constant however the constant drop offs and spikes are annoying. My Wahoo TickrFit was the same price and never has these kinds of issues. It is also an arm monitor, smaller, and more comfortable to wear. If I want a better backup HR monitor, I'll buy another Wahoo.

Works Well
Works well with Android phone. Seems to be accurate but exact heart rate is not a big priority. Chest band is supposed to be more accurate, but arm band is more user friendly. Price was reasonable and this product showed up as recommended in a number of reviews.

Doesn’t work with Apple Watch Workout App
I’ve used the Rhythm+ for years for running. I pair it to my Apple Watch and use Apple’s Workout app and the watch uses the rhythm+ for heart rate. I figured I’d upgrade to the Rhythm24 to use for HRV tracking which works fine on the Elite HRV app on the phone. But for running, the Rhythm paired just fine with my watch, the workout app continues to use the internal watch heart rate sensor. I went several rounds with Scosche support but got nowhere. They told me to use a different app on the watch. Very frustrating that the older Rhythm+ worked fine but this one does not. So for my specific use case it’s useless.
