Best tennis racket under $200
Fantastic racket and great price line. I recently started playing tennis and this racket worked miracles. Power, control and even precise top spin, it’s a full package. The slightest touch and the ball goes flying with speed so it takes a little getting used to. The sound off of the strings is amazing. It’s like a steel pan sound and I love how big the head is, very forgiving and lots of sweet spots. If you’re a beginner, intermediate or even a senior player, this is one of the best all in one rackets. It’s a little too light for a pro but it does the job nicely

Amazing Racket!
By far my favorite racket in the 25 years that I have been playing!!! I played varsity tennis in high school as singles 1 as well as a captain and the racket, for any age really, will hold a solid game. The grip is fantastic, the stringing is on point, the weight is perfect! A+ for this racket!!

Hyper Hammer 5.3 - Great Top-Spin and Control (Review by Pro)
I'm top 3 in our club and I'm used to a similar Wilson racquet which I used for 14 years and it got a crack. I was looking for one which is very similar - Head size, length and weight. Atlast I found this Hyper Hammer 5.3. I had purchased another Wilson racquet with this i.e. Wilson Juice Pro BLX along with this. Juice Pro was excellent and I got more power. It was on heavy side. It took a while to get adjusted, but eventually I stopped improving my game. My shots where flying out, unable to get it right in the middle etc. Finally I decided to go back to my other new Hyper Hammer 5.3. VOW!!!.. from day 1 I could realize that my game in improving and I'm using it for the past 1 month and now I'm back to number 1 in the club. Things I LIKE about this Hyper Hammer 5.3 is 1. Generate powerful top-spin 2. Great solid serve 3. Great control when near to the net 4. I no more hit out. It hits the line or on the green :) 5. Very light weight Cons: 1. It vibrates a lot, but I put a nice shock absorber rubber and I'm good now. 2. Strings move a lot when hitting top-spin. Would have prefered 18x22 string pattern. Note: Other Pro players in my club saw my Hyper Hammer 5.3 and said "this is a beginners racket...". But let me tell you, this racquet can do magic. I have used new Head, Price, Wilson racquets. But nothing come close to this racquet overall. I could feel my game is improving daily, everyday.. Thanks to Wilson for such a great racquet. Read a lot of review about this old racquet and my purchase wasn't a disappointment, but very very happy with it.

Played GREAT with an OLD Wilson Hammer 4.3
. Hi, I switched racquets with a guy from my tennis club and played GREAT with his OLD Wilson Hyper Hammer 4.3. I actually SUDDENLY elevated to a 4.0 to 4.5 level tennis player which is pretty amazing because I am normally a 3.5 to 4.0 level player. Due to the above experience I decided to purchase the Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 from Amazon. I've used it several times now but the magic that happened with the OLD Wilson Hammer 4.3 is yet to be re-experienced. Maybe my opponent just played crappy with my racquet - a Babolat AeroPro Team - or I suddenly got in the zone... who knows?!? But I do know I played much better and my game elevated to a whole new level. This includes much better controlled shots with excellent accuracy & precision, power if I wanted, and I also hit lotsa winners. The next set I went back to my old racquet and started losing again! It is due to these reasons, plus the great reviews the 5.3 receives, that I decided to buy it. Right now I am rating this 4 stars but will stick with the Wilson Hammer 5.3 similar to many that give it a 5 star rating, see if my game improves, and will report back later! One thing I can confirm with 110% certainty is that you get MUCH MORE POWER with the Wilson Hammer 5.3. So in order to get the ball in the court, this racquet forces you to work on and improve your technique, which is a good thing. Another thing I can confirm is this -- with very little effort you can get really powerful and well placed serves. Sometimes I really surprise opponents with this! Allow adequate time to get used to playing with this racquet so you can effectively CONTROL the extra power you get. Just use your NATURAL Swing Speed - don't swing too fast or too slow - and allow the racquet to do all the work. Oh ya, playing with Top Spin is also an Absolute Requirement with this racquet! Your back swing should be Short & High, then Low, then follow through High. Once you master all of the above your game will elevate and improve dramatically along with the enjoyment that comes with playing tennis! I was previously playing with a Babolat AeroPro Team and Price Hornet Mid-Plus and the Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 is lotsa fun! .

A great choice for practically any tennis player up to 5.0 rating.
Make no mistake, this is a light, powerful racquet, but it also is impressive in the control Department. I know of at least a dozen 4.0 to 5.0 rated players that use it without complaint. I also know at least one teaching pro that swears by it. The type of string and tension can be adjusted to tame the power or to take advantage of it. Although the racquet does transmit some vibration to the user's arm, this can be alleviated by using a lower tension and soft restraints. I use it with a hybrid co-poly & syn gut set up at 48/52 lb without any issues. It's definitely a good racquet to have in your bag. Be careful, however, it can be addictive!

Large head; super light
I love this racket. The head is oversized, and the frame is incredibly light. I bought and returned multiple rackets before I ended on this one.

My first Tennis racket
I am a beginner who is taking lessons for tennis and this is my first racket, I will tell you what I like and dislikes (which is really not the racket’s fault), and why I still give it a 5-star rating. I like: 1. Cool appearance of the racket 2. You can’t go wrong with Wilson 3. Good rating on Amazon, that is why I decided to purchase this one. 4. Fair price. 5. Black handle so I know it will not get dirty with prolonged use (as opposed to white handle, which I suspect will turn dirty or yellow after a few months) I “dislike”: 1. I like to inspect my purchase very carefully for any defect, so please inspect yours for any damage, dents, or scratches. Which I did found on one of my purchase and had a replacement. 2. Head size is 110! Place read the details of this racket carefully if you are specific on the head size you want. When I first buy it, I didn’t even know that there is different head size, I only know there are different handle size. When I first used it, I always feel that my racket is bigger than my classmate and instructor’s racket, when I realized it's not my imagination, I finally asked my instructor. He said the size is big but it's a great racket, I just have to be more gentle when hitting the ball (so something like that), and he prefers to use head size in the 90s I think (I don’t remember the exact number). Note on “dislikes”: I like to do rating in the product itself, NOT the seller or shipping methods because they tend to change a lot. So when you (or I) think about it, the 2 dislikes that I mentioned is not really the rackets fault (though I don’t know how long it will last, because I haven’t used it for toooooo long), one due to maintenance/shipping by the seller/shipper, and other is because my lack of knowledge about different head size and didn’t know to read the details carefully before purchase. So in the end, I still love this racket!
