Like for like replacement, tricky to fit
Old belt snapped, and this is the identical part so can't really give it anything other than 5 stars. Trickier than I anticipated to fit though. Out the packet it only just fits around the drum, so then getting it wrapped around the motor spindle as well was a challenge. The way we managed to do this in the end was to first soak it in boiling water for a while, then stretch it a bit by putting foot on it and pulling it hard with hands. That loosened it a bit, but still way not near enough to reach the spindle. In the end I cut about a 7 inch length of 15mm copper pipe - the sort used in central heating and managed to get one end on the spindle with the pipe inside the belt, and that give me enough leverage to stretch the belt down to spindle height. By turning the drum and edging the belt down the pipe we finally got in the correct position, and then carefully extracted the pipe leaving belt on spindle. So tumble drier saved for eight quid or whatever it was. All that said, this is a vented machine and my smart meter tells me it costs a pound an hour to run, so the longer term more economical and climate friendly (if you're into that) answer might have been to buy a new heat pump machine.

Works perfectly
Same is my old 1 very durable, and seems strong so hopefully won't snap for a few years.

Worked as expected
Perfect replacement for the broken belt on my Indesit tumble dryer. As others have suggested it is a snug fit and took some persuasion to get the belt onto the motor spindle but I was able to do it with a screwdriver. Ordered on Saturday and delivered on Sunday which was exactly what I needed.

Very cheap way to repair expensive tumble drier but very difficult to fit
So this belt has to be tight - very tight and it has to be tight even when it gets hot - and yep its a tumble drier so its going to get hot - and thus stretch. So what, even though this was exactly the same belt that had snapped its very very difficult to get on. As per one of the earlier reviews the trick of using a small section (3 inches) of copper pipe (plumbing pipe) to place over the motor spindle and inside the belt. You can then slowly pull the belt down and over the pipe - bit by bit once you get it on the spindle you can remove the pipe.Other tip use a hairdryer or hot air gun (on minimum setting) to warm the belt up - it will then stretch better.Overall value for mony is superb (£8 for a belt v £350 for a new machine) but its tricky to fit

The product is great - don’t be alarmed by reviews about size/fitting.
Our dryer belt snapped following a clothing item coming loose and wrapping around the drum.I was worried by people stating the sizing was off.My advice is to check the size from your manufacturer or manual. I did this and bought this belt. Now - these belts are mean to be *very tight* on the drum. So when you receive the product you will immediately see that it appears smaller then required. This isn’t a sizing problem with the belt.I had to to enlist the help of my partner and use a few screwdrivers as levers to get the belt onto the drum. Whilst being careful not to lever the screwdriver into the drum itself. There are much better tools designed for this I’m sure.It took us 2 hours. And it was significant workout! But unless you have the professional tools for the job or are a professional, this is what it takes. The pulling around of the belt helps loosen it also.Buying this product and fitting it ourselves saved us a good amount of money. It just takes a lot of effort. The belt has held for nearly a year now with no issues after installation. I inspected it recently and can see little wear, so know that it’s going to last. The product is great, thus the 5 stars. The installation is hard graft, but that’s the choice you make when looking to fit yourself.

Same item as original fitted on this machine
Fast delivery of item and although was a bit difficult to fit, but videos are out there showing various methods of installation. All fitted and work just like before.

Excellent Replacement Belt
So, the tumble dryer broke down. And the wife got angry. There appeared to be a suggestion that I had - somehow - broken the machine! Ordered this replacement, arrived next day. Fitted it inside of half an hour (after watching a YouTube video on how to dismantle the dryer correctly) and it was a doddle.I see some people have struggled, but there is honestly a simple way to do it. I followed the video step by step, and used a flat bladed screwdriver as a lever / fulcrum setup to help me get the belt on. It worked like a charm. If this fits your model, buy it. I was *this* close to going and buying a new machine, but the old one is used daily at least once and going strong with the new belt. Recommended.

Hotpoint dryer belt replacement.n
Having carried out a rear bearing bush repair to my dryer l thought l would replace the belt although the original appeared to be in perfect condition. Everyone that has struggled with a belt repair knows how difficult it is to get the belt on to the motor drive shaft, but this defo could not be installed. I did not wish to hold the repair up any longer so reinstalled the original belt. I later discovered there are various belt sizes for my model.
