SUPER TOCK MODIFIED RULES - Better Way To Play!
SUPER TOCK MODIFIED RULESRequires Deck of cards, Super Tock Board, Marbles.Object of the Game Be the first player or team, to get all four of your marbles in the Home section of the board.Dealing • Each player chooses one card, the one who has the lowest card starts as the dealer (Ace is low). Once finished dealing out the deck of cards, the player to the left (clockwise) becomes the next dealer. Rotation of play on the board and dealers is clockwise.2 Players: 5 cards are dealt twice, then 4 cards each four times (no cards leftover to discard)3 Players: 5 cards are dealt one time, then 4 cards each three times (one card leftover to discard)4 Players: 5 cards are dealt one time, then 4 cards each two times (no cards leftover to discard)5 Players: 5 cards are dealt twice (two cards leftover to discard) 6 Players: 4 cards are dealt twice (four cards leftover to discard)Value of the CardsAce: Allows to move marble onto “18/Start” or move forward one spaceKing: Allows to move marble onto “18/Start” or move forward 13 spaces *See additional special rule*Queen: Move forward 12 spaces Jack: Move forward 11 spaces or see special rulesGeneral Play Rules Starting: Each player starts with one marble on the “18/Start” space and their other three marbles remain in the starter base section. A player can only move a marble out of their starter base section into play - 18/Start spot when they have an Ace or King card during their turn.General Play area:In the play area of the board, you can jump any marble, including your own. If you land on another marble, you send that marble back to their starter base section.Safe Spots: A player is always safe (no other player can move or touch) on their own “18/Start” space and in their own Home spaces. A “tornado” King cannot wipe out someone on their own “18/Start” space.Home Section: You cannot jump your own marbles in the Home section.Card Play: If you can play a card, you must play it. If you have cards that aren’t playable, you can just throw them into the discard pile. If one of those cards is a “Jack”, then you can choose to throw one card at a time into the discard pile on your turn and selectively choose when you want to use the “Jack” to swap 2 marbles. You are not required to use your “Jack” to swap.Approaching Home Section: You must have the exact card to move into this section. You have the option to choose to go past your home section to go around the board again. It is not required, it is only an option. If you don’t have a card to get into home and don’t want to go around again, you sluff a card into the discard pile on your turn.Special Rules4: Always moves backward 4 spaces, never forward. You cannot move backwards into your home section.7: 7 spaces can be split up between 2 or more of your own marbles. You must be able to use all 7 spaces.Jack: If not using to move 11 spaces, you can use this card to move any 2 marbles on the board. One of the marbles does not need to be your own. You can use this card even if you aren’t able to play any of your own marbles. You cannot move a players marble that is on their “18/Start” space or home spaces.King: Once a player has all their marbles out of the starter base section, the King becomes a “tornado” card. All marbles within the 13 spaces get bumped back into their starter base section. This wipe out also includes any marbles of the player who’s moving the 13 spaces. The Blockade: When a player has a marble on their own “18/Start” space, it creates a blockade to all the other players. No player can move past this blockade until that marble has moved off of the “18/Start” space. A Jack can still be moved to swap a marble from this blockade area.Landing on an “8” spot on the board: You can jump to one other “8” spot on the board. If you land on another’s marble in the jump, you send them back to their starter base section. You can choose to not “jump”, it’s not required.Team Play Rules When there is an even number of players, you can choose to play as a team with the person directly across from you. When one player of the team has all 4 marbles in their Home section, they then play the marbles of their team member until their team member marbles are in the home section. When both of you have all your marbles in your Home section, you win!We have a ton of fun with these modified rules and everyone asks us for them. Here they are for your enjoyment!!!

One of our new favorite games!!!
This game has quickly become a family favorite on nights we all get together for dinners and game nights. I tried to get it for my wife for Christmas but since it is a Canadian game the shipping was as much or more as the game was before it was available on Amazon so I had to wait. I was notified it became available right before Mother's Day so it made a great gift.I had actually bought it without having heard of it or playing it before. I learned about the game in an article I read on ESPN where several players on the Dallas Stars were playing it constantly while on road trips. Jamie Benn said:"We play a board game called Super Tock. It's like Trouble, on steroids. It's just four of us. We have multiple boards, but I play with three other guys. Antoine Roussel, our French guy, brought it in one year. You have to get certain cards to get out of your house, then you go around the board and try to eat other people who are trying to get into your house. We play on the plane, in hotel rooms, late at night. We play it everywhere. Four, six or eight people can play, but we just play with four players. It's me, Roussel, [Jason] Spezza and [Dan] Hamhuis."

Great game!
I was just introduced to this game, and we played it about 15 times in a week. My husband doesn’t like games, but he told me to leave this one set up to play again. We use most of the “optional rules” which add complexity and ruthlessness to it. Good for adults and kids. Smaller kids, just don’t use the optional rules.
