How water should taste
I don't remember what water used to taste like. When I was a kid, the town starting putting so much chemicals in the water that I would start having allergic reactions to it: hives and rashes! I couldn't drink it and my clothes couldn't be washed in it. After enough complaints the town dialed back in chemicals but I know water never tasted the same. When the water on the fridge broke I had to buy water in the bottle which just got too expensive so I got this filter for everyone. My mom said, "Wow! This tastes just like it used to when I was growing up." My grandma cried, gave me a big hug and said, "You just don't know what this means to me to have this. I was so sick of this nasty water and having to boil it all the time just to drink it." So, while I don't remember what good water used to taste like, I have to believe that what is coming out of this filter is good water. I personally hate water. I could only drink Deer Park water. I've stopped buying Deer Park and I drink from the filter now. It's the only water I don't hate now. It's not too hard to assemble and all you need to do so is in the box. It's relatively cheap to buy filters. I go to Lowes and get a 4 pack for $17 and it can last up to a whole year. Cheap! Cheap! It did start to leak once but I just jiggled it around and retightened. The leaking stopped.

Significantly improves taste of water
We're very happy with this filter. We use it on the kitchen faucet for our drinking water and we noticed a major difference in the taste of the water right away. My husband installed it quickly and easily. I told him about the reviews that said it leaked and he used waterproof tape to shore it up. It worked perfectly and we were/are very happy with the filtering quality and ease of use.Unfortunately, the first one we purchased randomly broke and dropped off after under six months of use, and it could not be reattached. I contacted Amazon and the customer service rep I spoke to said that typically, after thirty days, I would need to contact the manufacturer, but he didn't want me to have to mess with all that. So he immediately shipped me a new unit and provided a shipping label so I could return the old one. If it breaks again I will contact the manufacturer, but this kind of thing is why I keep spending money with Amazon.

They do the job as intended.
I've been using these filters for my tap water in the kitchen for decades. I'm glad they still sell them.

filter replacement part number.R2 and temp warning ,What the filter removes
Don't allow water over 100 deg f to go through filter it will ruin it.I have had mine for many years but it's time for a new one as water comes out of filter outlet when off.Quality product. They should list what the filter can do on Amazon, what it filters and the replacement filter. Here is a copy and paste from Instapures web site. The Instapure F2 Essentials faucet filtration system uses the R2 replacement filter, which is included and reduces contaminants like lead, microbial cysts, VOCs, and chlorine taste and odor for up to 3 months or 200 gallons.

Economical filtered water
Straight tap water in my area is almost undrinkable. I've tried several brands of unflavored bottled water, distilled water, R O filtered tap water and this filter. They all taste the same to me. This filter is easy to install. Makes inexpensive filtered water. Much cheaper than bottled water and taste as good. But I would assume any home water filter can accomplish the same. I also use it to fill ice trays as I don't have an ice maker in my freezer and don't want my ice to contaminate my drinks..

GARBAGE.
GARBAGE. A waste of money and water. After installing the water filtration system correctly, running water through the cartridge for 5 minutes to remove carbon fines, and having no leaks, the water smells and tastes the same as it did straight from the faucet. Maybe other faucet mounted water filtration systems from InstaPure do what they're supposed to do. Unfortunately, this one doesn't.

Installed relatively easily. InstaPure gets points for simplicity of filter installation and the secure faucet mounting -- both things that I have found to be lacking in the Culligan and Brita filters I previously tried. The InstaPure also has the fastest filtered water output of any faucet-mounted filter I've tried.Unfortunately, this unit just does not deliver very good water. I can tell no difference in taste or clarity between the filtered water from the InstaPure and the municipal water coming straight out of the faucet. This is probably due in part to the number of things this particular filter allows to pass through. This is an "essentials" filter which means that it is not designed to do the heavy-duty filtering of some other units like Culligan and Pur.I have found the Culligan faucet-mounted filter to be the best option overall. The Culligan does not have as secure of a mount to the faucet, and the filters are harder to remove, but the water it produces is simply without rival.

Fast delivery, good packaging, and easy installation.
I have bought this water filter before. It arrived in excellent packaging. It is very easy to assemble and install. It does filter the water and makes it taste better. It does not filter water that is contaminated by bacteria or other micro-elements, but it does filter sediment and cleans the taste of water. I will buy this product again when needed.
