Yamaha 10" 100W Powered Subwoofer - Black (NS-SW100BL)

Bass is very deep. Before purchasing it, I was using taga harmony 506 v2 speakers. Even that has very good bass and I am sure that the amount of bass it delivers is enough for majority of the people. All I needed was a boost.So, I began to play some movies. I started with some ordinary drama movies, but didn't find any difference, it seemed that my taga was enough. Disappointed, I ran mad max fury road. I knew this is the movie that could really test my woofer. All on a sudden, there was a huge blast of sound and everything changed. The beating of drums and the purr of blazing cars brought the cinematic effects that I badly needed. I could feel the bass. You know bass is sweet when it's not heard, but felt.In my small room, keeping the volume at 40% was enough. Like all other subwoofers, this one needs to have a decent bass encoded in the source material. Only then, it will sound pleasant. If the content does not have any good amount of lower frequency sounds, you still can expect some bass from it by increasing the volume. The thing is that it won't be very pleasant to hear. I felt that this subwoofer is better for movies than music, don't know why. Probably my taga harmony speakers added to the cinematic experience while playing movies with multi channel audio.To get the best of it, you need to go to the settings of your receiver and set all the speekers to 'low'. Sometimes proper positioning of the subwoofer is needed to get the most out of it.Lastly, the product is quite heavy and well built. What I am using now is actually a replacement product, the first one sent was damaged at some corners, also the packaging was poor. The replacement is a new one with invoice and warranty card and now the packaging was also good. Surprisingly there was a tag with the word 'custompack' on it.Although at first impressions, the product seems to be well built with great audio quality, I'm a bit apprehensive about its long-term reliability given my past experience with yamaha products. Fortunately, yamaha authorized service centers are to be found in almost all major cities.Although this is a budget category product, but I feel the price could have been a bit lower. Still, regarding performance, there's nothing to complain, performance wise it's a genuine 5 star.

Sound is good, but the bass is boomy rather than punchy

A perfect match for your Home Theatre package if you are looking for a Powered (Active) Sub Woofer.It has the right amount of thump bass. You can play with volume knob at the back of the woofer to adjust as per your needs. I think in my opinion it is a bit costly.Build Quality ⭐5Sound ⭐ 5

Good subwoofer to have. Very good built quality and bass effect is as expected. I can not write comparison result with other make subwoofers as this is my first purchase. But over all it meets requirement in terms of cost and performance.

Product is good and Bass is superb and tightWhile watching movies it really rocks the room along with that the built quality of Yamaha is very good.

Yamaha is a big brand in sound system and therefore costly also, but also should give some accessories for attachment

The media could not be loaded. It is very powerful !! Handles low bass frequencies very easily!! Dissolves the bass in the room!!Bought the 2nd one to pair it!! It is the best subwoofer out there in budget if you want excellent quality audio and have sharp ears to understand the lower hertz!!The packaging for such a beautiful and valuable product could have been easily better!! But sounds amazingly good!!It can roar all day without breaking a sweat!!For the best result keep the knob till 37-40 % and then manage the master knob/control

I am using this product for last 2 days. Let me summarise few points which can influence your purchase decision.1. The back has lot many screws...some of which are giving electric shock though not much but intimidating.2. Power & volume are at the back. Every time you need to adjust bass you have to walk down to the unit. A remote would have helped.3. Bass is negligible till 30% volume. Overpowering & very boomy after 70%4. Build quality is superb & unit is quite heavy & solid.Overall very disappointed with the purchase. Will give it a patient hearing for couple of days more and update.
