North Star Sports Side Loader Duffle/Gear Bag 21 x 36 -Inch 1050 HD Tuff Cloth

The original Coleman tent bag finally came to a glorious (exploding) end so I went in search of a replacement bag. This bag, especially for the price, was exactly what I was looking for. Not only does it easily fit the 8 person tent (with all poles/stakes/rain fly/etc), I also can fit the tarp the tent sits on, a cheap thin table cloth, and a few misc. tools (like a hammer, etc.). This all fits without trying to jam it in like I had to do in the Coleman bag. It's made of a strong durable material, with a big, strong zipper. It is true there's no shoulder strap, and the handles feel `oddly placed' compared to how the bag opens. Still for the price, and obvious quality of the bag those are minor complaints. I would have no problem recommending this item, or buying a second one should the need arise.

I ordered this as a gear bag to use for traveling to and from Africa. I never even left the states before the bag started falling apart. I was not using it to transport anything heavy or anything with sharp edges- I was using it to bring in soccer balls and tshirts. It was fully packed but not overstuffed (still under the airline 23kg limit) and I noticed on the way to the airport that some of the seams on the ends were coming loose, there were 3 small holes that appeared on the side and some of the sticking on one of the handles was fraying. This is really disappointing because I've ordered north star bags before and have been very happy with them, and definitely put them through quite a beating out in the bush (I've had one almost 2 years that I've used to transport various things that has barely started to wear- that was the black ripstop one, which I though this was but just another color with extra handles). I never experienced this before. I was able to get things over safe and sound but would not recommend this bag.

I bought this bag for an upcoming 8-day motorcycle touring trip, to haul my camping gear, etc. The size is just right to hold my stuff, and with it slung sideways in front of my passenger back rest, the 36" length is the same width as my saddlebags. I doubt the bag is water resistant, but I do plan to spray it a couple times with Camp Dry.The bag is no-frills, and light weight; but it looks tough enough for what I plan to use it for. And the price is right. Would recommend.

The quality of this product can't be overstated especially considering the price - what a deal! I've hung it up in behind the seat of my very old Toyoto pickup with S hooks - gives me lots of more storage - and could see it working out well in either the trunk of a Toyota Corolla or Honda Fit cargo space that I plan to buy pretty soon. Really, really happy with the practicality and the quality of this product. I bought the size bigger the first time, it was way to wide for the truck but such a good bag - no way it was going back, I want it, I'm keeping it for something else. Buy a strap and put all your stuff in it and you could be set to go.

Doesn't come anywhere close to 21" wide, even when laid-out flat and empty. Other than that, material and price both get 5 stars. Knocked off 1 star for the huge fall-off in capacity from 21" to 12". Was going to send it back, but started filling it with camping gear, and ended-up with more than enough room. Even with only a 12" diameter, the bag is still surprisingly spacious, and offers good storage bang for the buck.

We bought these to replace the flimsy and way too tight bags that our older tents came in, and they work like a charm! Water resistant, durable, and lots of volume...we were able to package the required stakes, tarps, and tent for each site and made setting up the camp site super easy. Also a terrific storage bag for sleepingbags that have lost thier original bag! Keeps everything nice and clean.I would recommend some key tag style labels for the D ring so if you order multiples, you know what is in each bag...ours worked out nicely with the green tent getting a green tag and the purple tent getting a purple tag. Makes packing a breeze!

I was almost ready to plonk down north of $40 for a tree storage duffel bag for my Christmas tree. It was supposedly durable, it was 36"x20" and it was red. Whoopdeedo. As I looked at it, I thought this is insane. I don't even think I spent that much on the tree itself! So, I hunted on Amazon for a suitable substitute, and you're looking at it. I dare say, I think it's even better than the one I was going to buy. It seems sturdy, it has handles galore (though, be aware, no shoulder strap). All in all, I'd buy it again!

These bags are 12", NOT 21". So either its a typo on the 21" (and they put the numbers in reverse order, 21 instead of 12"), or else its blatant misrepresentation. But these are not what they advertise. The 36" is correct, actually closer to 34". But they are only 12" wide/diameter. Very small and narrow. Item not as described. Do not buy from this seller. I would have returned them, or disputed the charges, but I needed them for a trip to carry a bunch of clothes to a charity project for children overseas, so I got the bags last minute and had to use them for the trip the next day, and had to leave them with the charity group, so could not bring them back to return them.
