Worked for me!
WOW! I have high porosity hair, and let my toner sit too long, resulting in a sad ashen mess. I figured I'd have to wait until the color started to fade, but then read about this treatment, and the reviews seem overwhelmingly positive, but not 100%. I followed the directions almost exactly, and it worked! I now have my hair back to the highlighted start. The scent is not pleasant, and definitely a slight deterrent, but to fix my mess, I was desperate. Also the EXTENDED rinsing and repeated shampooing, feels torturous. Again, I was desperate. You rinse the first time for 20 mins! Then shampoo again and rinse for 5 mins, X2 cycles. I ended up just standing in the shower, praying for the hot water to hold out, and doing squats and body weight exercises to pass the time. I am SO happy to be blonde again, even if it is a brassy shade. I did a protein treatment immediately after, and then used my regular conditioner. My hair actually feels soft, and no worse for wear. I am planning to do another deep conditioner x2 days and then use a protein filler before applying a toner (for half the time!), to finish my look. It's a lot of work, but much needed, as I have an event this weekend. My hair type is fine/curly 2C, so it tends to be more porous anyway, I just need to take more care. But I highly recommend this product, it absolutely saved me! I hope not to need to repeat again, but it's good to know, that in an emergency, I'm not totally screwed.

4/5 Stars
I used Color Oops on my hair because i had ginger hair dye and wanted to try blonde. This ginger was a permanent dye with a brown layered over it. The Color Oops worked well, it got rid of some of the red, but not all of it, especially near my roots and i still have a red tone to my hair. The smell was truly awful, it was like rotten eggs and took some time to come off like 2 washes and some perfume. Good thing was my hair wasn't damaged afterwards. This is a really good DIY option and good for damaged hair like mine.

Smell is NOT bad - but does it work?
I used this product for the first time following instructions carefully. I laid old towels over most of the surfaces and the floor (in case of spillage). After application, I used 2 disposable shower caps to cover my head. The smell is really NOT BAD. I see a lot of reviews that warn and complain about smell. It's actually less than the smell at the salon. Anyway, i followed the instructions and rinsed for 20 min, which is an eternity (use a timer), but got thru it and 2 subsequent shampoo/rinse. It works pretty well on new color, but not well at all on old color. It also does not remove red undertones (think golden brown color). Is it really worth the hassle if you cannot lighten the bottom half of your hair ... probably not

Works well
I attempted to put medium brown lowlights in my blonde human hair extensions but it was too many thick dark pieces which needed to be lightened. I bought this in hopes I can salvage the look I was going for. It worked well. I left it on for 10 min and washed it several times as the directions stated to do. I’m very pleased with the outcome. The only con is the absolutely horrendous odor. It’s so strong and stinks up the entire room hours later ugh

it worked
I have been dyeing my hair for years and years. My natural color was auburn when I was younger but I started going gray early. Over the years, I've mostly dyed my hair some shade of auburn. I've decided I'm old enough to stop coloring my hair so I switched to strawberry blonde color to lighten up before letting my natural silver/light gray color grow in. Unfortunately, that left me with silver/light gray roots and enough lingering strawberry blond that it looked bad when my hair is wet. Since an upcoming family reunion will include pool time I didn't want that look.I decided to color my hair to closely match my natural color so it would gradually blend in. That plan went horribly wrong when a dye labeled as ash blonde left my hair gunmetal gray. So dark it was almost purplish black. I knew I couldn't go back to strawberry blonde since it was so dark and three daily shampoos with dandruff shampoo lightened it to more of a grayish brown but not enough that my light roots won't really show at the reunion. I decided to try this color remover.According to the directions, I could expect this product to remove the dark dye color but would likely leave my hair blonde even though that's not my natural color. I figured that would leave my hair light enough that my natural silver/light gray color should blend in as it grows. I applied the dark color on Monday and used this product on Saturday so the dye was new.The directions are to apply the product and put on a shower cap for 20 minutes (or maybe 25). Then shampoo your hair then rinse it for 15-20 minutes. After that you are to shampoo again then rinse it for five minutes three times. Then condition. You use your own shampoo and conditioner. My concern with doing this in the shower was that I would run out of warm water. I figured I could handle cold water on just my head so my intent was to do this in the kitchen sink but it's metal. The directions clearly say this product is not supposed to come into contact with any metal surface. I decided to do this leaning over the tub using a handheld sprayer. After ten minutes of rinsing, my knees and back hurt and I knew I couldn't continue in that position and moved into the shower. Luckily, I had enough warm water. I ended up following the directions so at the end I had shampooed four times and rinsed for a total of 35 minutes plus a few more minutes of time to condition, let it sit then rinse it out.I was left with very light blonde hair, a color I've never had. But it's light and I can see that my natural color should just blend in as it grows. I used a good shampoo (not the dandruff shampoo) and conditioner during the process. My hair was left in good condition, just a little drier than normal. I think I could color my hair again if I wanted and it wouldn't damage my hair. The product smells no worse than my hair dye did. In fact, it left no lingering odor in the bathroom.I recommend the product, but be prepared for the process. It takes a while and requires a lot of rinsing. I have short hair and one bottle was plenty for me. I'm sure for longer hair you'll need a second bottle.

Did the Trick!!!
Is anybody familiar with Choke by Chuck Palahniuk? Do you remember the bit where Victor's mom would open boxes of hair dye and switch the colors? Apparently, Victor's mom packed my Sally Beauty order. My once copper/ginger hair was suddenly dark brown because I wasn't vigilant about comparing the shade name and number on the tube to the shade name and number on the box. Oops! I tried to rock the new shade, but it just wasn't ME. Eventually, I became impatient and ordered Color Oops! This stuff absolutely worked for me! It smells like a dirty port-a-potty, but the smell fades quickly. And so does the unwanted color! My hair doesn't feel damaged at all, and I once again look like a member of the Weasley family. Thank you, Color Oops!!!
