My boyfriend bought this for me as an Easter present because he knows I’m obsessed with Michael Jackson and this is MJs favorite scent. It came in the mail today and I opened it before Easter (I just couldn’t wait). I was worried because I read mixed reviews on it but once I received it I fell in love and NOT because of Michael Jackson. The reason I am so in love with this perfume is actually because it smells like my great grandmother, I’m wondering if she had a bottle of it herself. The smell is beautiful and I keep sniffing my wrist and imagining hugging my Nan. It’s almost bringing tears to my eyes from nostalgia. The scent itself isn’t something I would usually wear myself as it has a very dated old timely smell (not rancid, just a scent that seemed popular in the 60s) its musky but comforting. Like I said, it is not a “clean” modern perfume smell but rather a musky and warm fragrance. The first spray can come off strong and odorous but after about 3 seconds that fades and your left with the intended scent of the product. My bottle came several days early in a timely fashion and was packaged nicely. I would purchase again. This perfume is warming my heart and bringing back such fond memories of my Nan. So if you want to know what Michael Jackson and my great grandmother smelled like I suggest buying this LOL!

This cologne is hard to find, and this bottle of it smells slightly different Thani remember, but I still like it

Very disappointed!Nothing like the Original…..I wore this fragrance years ago when it was made by Jean Desprez…. This is just alcohol with a faint fragrance….no matter how much you spray on, there’s hardly any aroma…..Don’t waste your money!

I have used, nearly exclusively, for decades. For my chemistry Bal A Versailles still works for me. The fragrance stays clean and clear for the day (or night) after the first hour it does not fade. I've tried other fragrances but return for one or all of the undesirable negatives. The price for the quality, personally, has been a great value throughout the years.

I bought this because it was Michael Jackson's favorite and I'm a huge fan. It was a splurge, costing nearly $50.00I think it's a unisex scent and I spritz a tiny bit on my pillows occasionally. My one complaint is the scent doesn't last very long and the pump dispenser gets stuck. If I buy this scent again I'll buy a smaller bottle, to get a less diluted liquid and I won't buy a pump dispenser.

I have been wearing Bal a Versailles for about 28 years, and it still holds its power, keeping ahead of every new fragrance that tries to out-beat it. It is a fragrance that captures the essence of orange blossom and amber perfectly, and it is not too sweet or spicy, but subtle and exotic and alluring. It is a classic scent, but it does not smell old ladyish, and as it dries down, the exotic scent of amber emerges brilliantly. I wear it for day or night, and even after 28 years, I frequently smell my wrists as I'm wearing it, it's that wonderful.
