A peaceful classroom. A powerful impact on students. A chance for school transformation.
"No Kidding About Bullying is a godsend for teachers everywhere. I have passed it around among people I know and I will continue to do so. It's perfect because teachers have so little time to pull a lesson together. This book does it all--it gives the exact words to say, ready-made worksheets, and clear objectives. Not only does it help me focus, but it allows me to spend more time preparing for the kids instead of trying to write my own objectives for my lesson plans. It was also helpful to spread the word about what I was doing with the kids to the administration of my school. As I read this book I was inspired to do so many things to bring the message home for my kids."--Emily Voelkel, 4th grade teacher, Houston, Texas

Ready to use Bullying Prevention Resource
As a counselor at two Elementary Schools, I need my resources to be quick to access and easy to apply with meaning and usefulness. The book No Kidding about Bullying had it all. I was able to apply meaningful lessons and activities to all the grade levels I teach classroom guidance to. I focus on grades 3rd, 4th and 5th and found that most of the lessons could be easily tweaked to fit that grade level. The lessons not only taught useful self-regulation skills, but they also helped students to understand what "bullying" is. I will use this resource for many lessons in the classroom and also small groups.

I loved the book although I'd have liked more real examples
I'm going to use it in a spanish school in 5th grade so I'll have to work on vocabulary first. I would recommend the book for 5th and 6th grades. Some of the concepts are difficult to understand for younger kids.

Awesome resource
This book is has a wealth of activities to use with kids if you are a school counselor or teaching lessons to kids on anger, empathy, bullying, etc. To the reviewer that complained about it being paper and pencil tasks. I believe this book was meant for older kids. I work w/ K-5 and I used it with 5th. I got positive feedbacks from kids and teachers.

Not what I expected
This book does not live up to its claim to provide real activities for kids in getting along better. I was hoping that the book would be a resource for me to incorporate some "fun" activities that build character education skills in 2nd and 3rd graders. The "activities" are mostly pencil and paper tasks that do not fit the bill for me.

Very useful resource !!!!
I used it over the summer with my students. The lessons were great springboards for further work and discussion on several topics. The students were engaged and participated well. I highly recommend this book for teachers, counselers, social workers, psychologist and all support staff.

Best resource I have found!
As an elementary school counselor, I have been searching for a resource that I could use with our 3rd and 4th graders to reduce the incidents of bullying. This is the best I have found! It is laid out beautifully with clear, easy to follow lessons. We are very excited to use this at my school!

Very user-friendly
This book is very well organized and does seem to be a perfect fit for Grades 3-6. It is definitely user-friendly, with 20-minute lessons ready to be implemented in a classroom. I also love the fact that the book was based on a recently completed research-study!
