Required to make your HMF decibel compliant for many off road areas
Cuts the decibels a bit on my Can Am Outlander and makes it decibel compliant for most courses and off road areas. There are a lot of negative reviews stating this didn't make the bike any quieter. Don't think this will take you back to the factory 'motor boat' sound -- it reduces the sound by 3 decibels only. By contrast, most ear plugs decrease sound by 20+ decibels. Choosing an slip on exhaust for a particular sound is a personal thing -- However, if you really don't like the HMF sound, then go back to stock. No reason to purchase this product. If you do like the HMF sound, then this is a useful thing to have in your gear box when you arrive at parks or riding areas that have decibel limits.Takes about 5 minutes to install.

It helps quiet the obnoxiously loud HMF pipe
I bought an '04 DRZ400-E used. It already had an HMF pipe on it and the seller didn't have the stock pipe anymore. I seriously thought about switching over to an FMF or something due to the noise (it was really bad when you cracked the throttle hard).I decided to give the Quiet Core as shot since it presented a cheap option to a new silencer. It's very easy to install in about 2 minutes. I added the spark arrestor too. I haven't measured the noise level, but I can tell a difference. Still kinda loud, but now it is tolerable. I didn't notice any significant loss of power either.

Don’t work
Did absolutely nothing to quiet the exhaust down. Would not recommend.

I had one that came with it and it started to right on I bought this one and it works great.

Not impressed-still loud
Fits as advertised. Easy to install. It Does take the edge off of the excessive noise, but is hardly "quiet'. I can't say it doesn't help, but I thought that, due to it being called a "quiet" core, that it would actually be quiet. It's still too loud to carry on a conversation. I'm going to seek other muffler options, so this was actually a waste of money for me.FYI- this "quiet" core is not glass packed or baffled at all. It is straight through with nothing in it. I thought it would be a baffle, which it isn't. All it does is add back pressure and reduce the muffler outlet size. Kind of misleading marketing I think. Why don't they give you a view of it so you can see there's nothing in it?

this product is a great it worked exactly as planned and made it pretty quite but still a good rapp!! i def recommend it for anyone who wants to be legal with there exhaust

Slight decibel decrease
It fit my HMF Performance series fine. It quiets it a little bit. If your looking to go stealth quiet this is not the answer. A 3 decibel decrease is equivalent to cutting noise in half. Description states 3-6 db decrease and that is incorrect. At least for my application. There is a difference, but not much.
