Earthquake FIX - to keep drawers and cabinets closed
I'm not a parent and these aren't being used to keep kids out. I live in Alaska. We have earthquakes. On November 30th, in my town, the quake registered 8.4. Every cabinet rattled open, glasses broken, and stuff was everywhere (see pic). I'm determined NOT to go through that again. So...I installed these. Super simple, very strong and I hope the answer to my earthquake cabinet problem. I'll let you know how it goes.

Safety first!
We have tried 2 other kinds of safety locks before this one and my daughter figured out one and the other only worked for maybe 2 weeks before being able to lightly pull past the lock. Not only can she not figure this one out, the double sided tape is so strong! My husband really tried to pull it open and was unsuccessful. These work amazing!

Easy to install but the adhesive wasn't very strong
I ordered this product because my kitchen drawer fronts were too thick for the magnetic locks. I learned that my drawers weren't all the same depth from the openings, and the locks had to be adjusted for each drawer. The hook can be installed without the facing part, but the base extends above the edge of the drawers. The kit comes with screws, which would solve the problem with the glue not sticking well to the cabinet face piece. The first picture shows the cabinet face piece sitting on the drawer. The white glue side is up, it just wouldn't stay in place. The second shows the setting for installation without the cabinet facing piece. The drawers are different heights from the cabinet facings. Some of my drawers wouldn't shut fully with the small cabinet facing piece installed, so I installed with just the hook catching on the facing instead. This is a good alternative for drawers that are too thick for the magnetic lock key system.

“Latched Up”
Of the many latches we’ve tried, these are by far the best. They are easy to install because they come with a helpful template; the adhesive stays where you place it and even if you miss your Mark if you quickly remove and place it back it will stay. The latches are long enough or can stretch to a point whereby most often you will find that you may not need to use the catch plates that are included. The newer latches come with a clasp that allows you to push the latch down in an unlocked position until you need to re-lock it again for safety. We loved these so much, that we went all throughout the house and replaced every single (other brand) that we had on every cabinet and drawer our little guy could get into; needless to say; he was not a happy camper when he could no longer open any drawers, doors, or cabinets anymore.Lastly, the latches are durable and study; they stood his test that’s for sure.

Great product for most cabinet doors.
Fit most of my cabinet doors in my kitchen but I have 16 lower cabinet doors that required two kinds of installation. The installation guide was ok but didn't work perfectly. Had to adjust height on one set of doors and on the other doors, it did not work at all due to the way the doors were fabricated with step in the frame. But overall, I was pleased. Take your time and once you get the first one going, the rest go well. I used the screws and pre-drilled holes (in oak doors). Had to use some of my better quality screws as the ones included are too small for most guys to hold on to and they strip out easily.

Easy to instal. Adhesive is not strong enough.
I just installed these using the adhesive. Real easy to do. I didn’t measure, the catch is plenty big that you can eye it. Be sure not to press the adhesive into place until you’re sure that’s where you want it. I adjusted a few by pulling the clip back off. Once they were where I liked them, I pressed on the adhesive to bond it.Seems like the adhesive will be strong enough. Don’t really want to drill into my cabinets.Only gave 3 stars in durability because my brut hasn’t started pulling on them yet. I’ll update this in a couple of weeks if he pulls them off.UPDATEThe adhesive isn’t strong. I had to screw the latches into the cabinets to stop my son from pulling them off. Once screwed in he can’t open the cabinets.

Keeps the cat out of the cupboards...mostly
I got these in an attempt to keep my cat from going into my kitchen cupboards and sleeping in the pots and pans. They were a bit finicky to install because of the limited space on my cupboards and it was hard to get them to the exact right depth. After installing them, since I wasn't used to them, when I opened my cupboards, the force would knock off some of the plastic pieces. I would recommend letting all of the pieces "dry" or "secure" for a few days before trying to use them (or just be really careful when getting used to them). If you're going to screw them in, maybe get used to them just being stuck on first so you don't break them once they're screwed in. Because of the limited space on the top of my cupboards, the doors won't close all of the way flat anymore, but that's something I can live with. Two of the hook pieces were installed a millimeter too short and my cat figured out that if he repeatedly slams the door open, it will pop past the latch and the door will open. I also installed one of the locks too far away from the opening of the door, so it allowed the door to open wide enough that my cat could get through. Maybe not a problem if you're getting this for children, but it's something to be aware of if you're getting it for cats.

Wow these are not good. Do not buy if your young one has any kind of arm strength.
I bought these after reading the reviews and looking at my cabinets. Boy what a mistake. My young one (14 Months) defeated these after 2 days. I am not talking about figuring out the lock. She can literally pull on them hard enough to defeat the latch. Maybe it is the "B" style of installation. But in my case I need to go buy other ones. Too bad.PRO: The adhesion is good.Installation is easy.CON: The installation tool is not right. Apparently gives too much room.Plastic catch gives too much. The screws make it worse.I wish I would have tested this out more before putting them all on my cabinets. Maybe pulled harder.I used the little tool and it would be really really hard to mess this up. Well apparently their little tool is not right. While it will catch if I only pull it slightly, pull with any strength (14 month old) and the catch just bounces off the catch.
