I am a baker for my family. I look for good product when I am baking bakers, coconut my mother used to use it when I was a little girl. Now I am a baker for my own family. Bakers has never change. You can not find this in any of the groceries within a 100 miles of where we live. I thought maybe they didn’t make it anymore and I decided to try and find it online. I was so pleased to find it here and it’s very fresh. A little high, but worth it.

Coconut macaroons are the favorite cookies around our house. (Look for a macaroon cookie recipe that incorporates sweetened condensed milk.) This Baker's brand shredded coconut is what we have always used, but we recently live on fixed retirement income, and these bags are a bit too expensive in the grocery store. We were delighted to find it for this very reasonable price for a package of six bags with another 15% off by subscription from Amazon. Thank you Amazon. In our experience, the extra bags keep very well in the freezer. Great for coconut cream pies also. Cooking from scratch rocks as the best way to eat well on a small budget!

As a friend said to me, "Hippy coconut doesn't work for baking." You want to make a coconut macaroon? You need this stuff. You want to make a coconut cream cake? You need this stuff. Use the hippy coconut for coconut rice and other things. You need something sweet and moist, you need this stuff. Accept no substitutes!

Received the box with the label "exp 09/25/2025 has shown in the attached photo. However, the "best used by" dates on the 5 packages ranged from 8 September 2023 (7 months and 19 days ago) to 5 Oct 2024. One doesn't expect to receive food items that are almost 2/3 of year past their best use date. Two of the 5 bags were well past their best by dates. The other being in December 2023
