Philips Hue Play Extension Cable, Black, 5m

I have a (now) older V3 Hue Lightstrip that I have been searching for an extension cable to run between the power supply and the original cable (which subsequently runs up to the controller) for a long while now. Having exhausted all options thanks to Philips’ seemingly proprietary sizing for the DC plugs, I stumbled across an obscure forum suggesting that the Hue Play extension would work. I bought one and am pleased to say it works perfectly. Not a bad price either considering it is a Philips product. If you are here searching for the same solution, just be wary that you have the same power supply as me, as I understand some newer versions have a different sized plug again (of course). This cable will fit between the power supply and the original cable, with an internal plug diameter of 3mm.

Quality Made Philip Hue Product But Over Priced for what it is; however needed if you purchase the Hue bars with their short cables. Shame they don't come in white to match the rest of the cable

This product is necessary due to the size of the power fitting on the Hue cable to be extended. Nothing else fits. It is good quality and does the job but loses a star for the cost.

These are absolutely perfect for the new Philips Hue Play Gradient Light Strips as for some reason the ones they give you with the new light strips now, the original lead from the strip to the plug is only 2.5 meters which causes a problem for pretty much most people who have their TV's mounted on the wall because it either doesn't reach or isn't long enough to go inside the trunking you may have installed with your TV for your wires.The old light strips came with a longer lead (and are much cheaper) however as awesome as these new Philips Hue Play Gradient Light Strips are (they're so much better than the old strips, quality and display) for some reason they decided to give you a shorter lead from the strip to the plug, which again causes problems for people who have their TV mounted on the wall, specially if you have trunking you need to run your wires through to keep it nice and neat.I spoke with Philips Hue about this as they kindly sent me a lead due to a previous problem as a gesture, however they just sent me the same lead I had with my light strips in the first place so I had the same problem still, when they phoned me they spent around 20 minutes telling me these extensions didn't exist so they couldn't send me a new one or link me to one to purchase from their store, which I explained how I'm sure lots of people will have the same problem, so he said he'd give feedback to the team who design the products. Yet clearly they do exist as I just bought one here of the Philips brand of extension lead and they work perfectly lolSo long story short, if you need to extend your new Philips Hue Play Gradient Light Strips that recently came out, this lead is perfect for the job and is made for them as well.I hope this helps for anyone who may have the same problem with the new light strips 😊

I ordered the extension cable to use it with Philips Hue Signe table lamp. It works perfectly. Recommended.

I bought this to extend a Hue internal light strip which works well. However note that there have been at least two versions of the light strip, I have a light strip bought quite some time ago which can be distinguished by the writing being on the face of the power pack with a model number: S020CM2400083 and two newer models where the writing is on the side of the power pack and have the model number: S020YM2400083. The extension lead does not fit the older model power pack, but does fit the newer model

Für die Philips Hue Play ist dieses Verlängerungskabel die einzige Möglichkeit wenn man nicht ein neues Netzteil kaufen möchte oder die Hues relativ hoch platzieren will. Es macht was es soll und funktioniert einwandfrei. Als Hinweis: Die Maximallänge ist 7 m (2 m + 5 m Verlängerung). Vermutlich würde bei 2 Verlängerungen hintereinander die Spannung zu stark abfallen, sodass die Lampe nicht mehr ordentlich funktioniert.Ein großer Kritikpunkt ist aber der Preis. So ein Kabel sollte nicht mehr als € 10 kosten und das ist schon die Obergrenze. Für € 15 kann ich auch eine Nicht-Hue-LED-Lampe samt Netzteil kaufen.

I got this extension cable because the power cord for my “Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip 75inch” was too short for my wall mounted tv.I was nervous because the product description didn’t state that it’d work for the play lightstrip, but I was very relieved that it did. Now all cables are hidden behind the wall. I only needed an extra metre, but this extension only comes in 5m.
