After 25 years of service we finally decided that we had to retire our old Le Creuset due to it getting a chip in the enamel on the bottom of the pot. We bought the Denby equivalent but it just wasn't a Le Creuset, so that ended up with my daughter and we bought this one. There are two of us and the 25cm is more than big enough, it is easily big enough to serve 4 adults. A medium sized chicken will fit in the pot as will a medium sized lamb shoulder or 3 to 4 lamb shanks. We use the shoulder regularly for one of our favourite dishes, Greek Lamb. You may get a half lamb leg to fit but a full leg (with bone in) is too long. Good results are achieved whether cooking on the hob or in the oven. These Le Creuset casseroles are really easy to clean after a quick soak and come up looking like new. I can say that the colour looks even better up close than it does online, I'm pleased we opted for this one. Yes, they are expensive, but as my partner said 'You buy cheap, you buy twice'! If we get another 20+ years of service from this we will be happy bunnies!

Excellent quality, hold the temp do not turn up high or you will burn the base, it doesn't need need to sit on high plates we only ever use on half temp and then less
