So, proof to this review. I just bought it last week and put it to the test this past Saturday. My stepson had a TYFA championship playoff game this past Saturday here in Texas. It was 56° and a steady heavy drizzle or light rain. I was part of the chain gang holding the down marker so I could it use an umbrella. This jacket held up to its descriptions. It eventually got soaked, but I literally stayed dry and warm. I ordered a large. I am 5'7" and at about 198lbs. A bit over weight, and it's a but loose on me. But it's definitely comfortable. I love the pit zips because as I started to sweat, I was able to unzip my pits just a bit for better ventilation and no more sweating and I was still warm. The hood is great in both ways. I love the extended bill, it kept the rain off my face and glasses. And when thrown back, it sits flat, not all puffed out like most jackets. No, here are my downsides. It has plenty of pockets, I wish it had at least one internal pocket. But my phone and smokes stayed dry in the rib pockets 100%. Second downside. Since my jacket is a bit too big for me, the bicep pockets are a bit difficult to zip back up. I have to hold the cuff with my fingers to keep it tight and pull the zipper up. But that's not a defect in the product, just an issue with the size I ordered, so keep that on mind. 3rd issue, there were no instructions on how to roll the hood up and stow away. I had to watch the video for the product a view times to see how they are folding it. But once folded, it's a nice tick fleece lined collar. All in all great product, there is a video on YouTube where a guy has owned his for years and loves it. I definitely recommend. I'm going to order another one, but without the hook and loop patches for my wife. She loves mine as well.

Fit is good. I like how it cuts the wind. Didn't even feel the cold as much as my old coat when it was 18 degrees outside

First, I love this jacket. I can wear this rain or shine, 30 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit or even 20 if I wear a long sleeve underneath. Water doesn’t bead at all and the hoodie is sufficient at keeping rain and wind of your face. It’s sleek and I constantly get compliments on it. It’s not perfect though and they’re minimal. Con: -The cuff plastic hook and loop (velcro )is utterly awful. It never properly worked and would open up constantly to where it was almost dangerous to wear the jacket. I’m in law enforcement and if the company is actually made up of military veterans then they should know how important securing stuff to your body is. One instance my cuff went over my hand as I was drawing my firearm at the range. Being a controlled environment I holstered and took off the jacket so it wouldn’t go over my hand or affect my grip, imagine if that was an emergency and prevented me from using my hands properly because the cuff got in the way or caught onto something. I have a fix which I go over later. - The roll up hoodie looks ridiculous, bulky and unprofessional. That’s about all I have to say on that, your coworkers will notice and they will dog on you about the new neck brace you have on lol. Improvements: - I suggest switching the cuff to actual hook & loop or velcro. I personally used a razor blade and shaved off the plastic nubs and cuz some both side of velcro to the cuff. I used a bit of additional fabric glue and let it dry under a 25lb plate to cure overnight just in case. It is vastly superior works very well. - I would love for there to be pen pockets on the sleeve for my pen and handcuff key. - A removable hoodie would make it look very professional and work with some policies as my department head actually didn’t approve of this jacket due to the hoodie until an incident with a coworker actually had him change his mind of that policy. Also I know you can roll up the hoodie and velcro it down to become a “collar” but it looks terrible, and looks more like a neck brace rather than a collar. Overall this is a fantastic jacket and with some tiny improvements this can be THE tactical jacket.

I bought this same jacket a couple of years ago but needed a new one because I burned a sleeve. While I loved the previous jacket, they've made the lining much thinner and overall the jacket isn't nearly as warm as it used to be. So beware older reviews as the quality has changed.
