Check the hardware for proper fit.
I like Carter products, it works great. One problem it was shipped with wrong fuel fittings. I ordered 3/8 by 3/8 fuel fittings, it came wit larger threads and does not fit the pump.Wires are too short, has appropriate pressure and no leaks. Sender owes me the right fuel fittings, 3/8 threads by 3/8 barbs

Fit and function
Was having a problem with the electric fuel pump (brand new) on my classic car restoration, pump would stop pumping and leave me stranded. This pump required some modifications to fit in my application and elbow fittings to allow angled install of the fuel lines, but the engine now runs like it should and doesn't leave me stranded. Previous comments on the snap-on electrical connectors didn't appear to be a problem, when snapped completely in place they were very difficult to remove?

What Happened to Carter?
I bought this pump to replace a carter pump on my older 30ft Allegro rv. That pump was a carter and was almost 20yrs old just couldn't hold pressure anymore. I bought this one thinking I was putting something of somewhat quality in and hopefully reliable, boy was I wrong. I installed the first pump with new brackets and connectors and new lines and filter so I wouldn't have to do it again for another 20yrs. start the rig up and pump is running so I take it for a drive and nothing it falls flat on its face running out of gas, now it will run but it does also have a mechanical pump on the engine also. So I thought maybe too much pressure for old mechanical to handle so I put a new one on the engine, but when I had the lines off I tested the P4070 and only a trickle of fuel was coming out if any. I called Carters warranty line and talk to a nice rep that sent me a new pump out to replace the one I recieved, I was happy that they sent one it took 10 days to get it, but hey hopefully this one is good right? Well I install the replacement and put another new filter on just to be sure and turn key on and it whirred to life much louder than the first pump Yippee or so I thought. I buttoned everything up and get it ready for test drive get in and start it starts right up. We get out on our drive and plenty of power and it is running great. Take down a small highway near my home and get about 8 miles away and go to turn around and boom falls flat on its face again. While it is idling I check the electric pump and it is stopped so I pull and check for power and plug back in and starts back up. Jump in and head home about a mile it shuts off again jump out unplug and repeat a few times to get it home, that sucked. I rewired the whole circuit to make sure that there wasn't a issue, but long story short the new pump only runs for about 10min then shuts off it just wont stay running. I Contacted carter again and asked for help or suggestion to maybe a reliable pump they sent a message that quality control will look into it and let me know, that was 3 months ago and still no word. I have a cheap $15 chinese pump on it for a temp until I decide what to run on it, but it runs better and longer than the carter ever did. I did take the top off the first pump, and they forgot to put the vanes in the top impeller GREAT QUALITY CARTER! So I want to like this pump and carter, but this experience is just not good. Please just make a pump that works and not get passed up by a cheap import pump that has lasted longer than 2 of you brand new supposed quality pumps.

So far so good. So far so LOUD.
Just got it installed and it's working better than the Mr. Gasket pump I had on there. HOWEVER. This thing is -loud-. Have it mounted to the tub on my CJ5 and it's easily 2-3 louder than the other electric fuel pumps I've had mounted in the same location. That said, I have a 304 v8 with headers and side pipes so that drowns out the noise pretty well. As long as it works I can absolutely deal with the noise. Will update after I get it on the road. ***Don't judge me on the mess of wires, wanted to mock it up to make sure it's what I needed before tidying up!***

Great pump.
1978 F350 with 460 cuid. Wiring this pump up was really easy. I mounted my pump to the frame rail underneath the driver seat. With stock exhaust I cannot hear the pump while the truck is running. Fuel pressure as advertised is accurate.

I bought this pump to use as a lift pump for my 2001 LB7 Silverado Duramax. I haven't fitted it yet, but have tested it. It pumps approximately 5 litres in 1 minute 4 seconds (see video) so is very close to the stated flow rate. It is self-priming, no reviews mentioned this, I tried to add a video, but Amazon only allows 1 video per review for whatever reason. I'm quite pleased with the above results, however, I also tried sucking fuel through it with another pump whilst this one was off and it didn't like it at all, if the pump stops working for any reason, mechanical or electrical failure, the pump on the engine will likely not be able to suck it through and put unwanted strain on it, which could potentially stall the engine, I will try this theory when it's fitted to the truck, but even so, it would be wise to carry a spare peice of fuel hose to replace the pump in an emergency. All told, I recommend this pump.

I have been running this pump for two years now. It feeds a quadrajet on a 305 SBC. I’m not sure how many miles it’s seen as my odometer is dead but I daily the car. This week for instance I did 500 km. It is loud but like others have said that is handy on an old hotrod project, so you know it’s running. I bought a second one and keep it in the trunk for the day it does eventuality die. I would recommend.
