The product itself is great. Shipped overnight - fits perfect, currently doing its job. Zero compaints. HEED MY TALE OF WOE. The videos online make this replacement look easy, right? For some, it probably is. If the old wheel does not require a human sacrifice to come off. Story time: My old drier finally died after a long life of servitude. I was line drying clothes inside my house in the dead of winter for a month when I lucked into a barely used replacement. Really BARELY USED. In fact, when installing, I began wondering if they had EVER been used at all, and pulled the lint trap to investigate. Simultaneously, my friend helping me with the install went to put a screwdriver on the top of the machine - and accidentally slam dunked it straight down the lint trap hole. This would not have been an issue if I had been a patient woman. However, I had to swap out the pigtails to take it from 3 prong to 4 prong, and in my overexcitement over adding "amature electrician" to my resume, I turned on the drier on to revel in my amazing newfound power. I did so without removing the screwdriver, assuming there must be some kind of safeguard for idiots like me - causing it to dramatically slam into the blades of the old wheel, breaking one off and mangling the screwdriver in the process. Whoops. That's when I watched a youtube video, found this product, and smashed the order button for next day delivery, relieved I did not have to sell a non-vital organ for the seemingly easy repair. Like a desperate moron who had been living in a weird air dry laundry fortress for a month, I did a few loads of laundry, since the old wheel was still functional. It eventually started making a horrible knocking sound and I decided not to test fate any longer. After receiving the replacement part and tearing the drier apart, I very gently tried to unscrew the old wheel, worried I'd break the engine. 12 hours later, with every tool I own strewn about, my children weary from being asked to stand on the meal pipe I had jammed in between the blades to help gain the leverage I needed to break the old wheel lose, I sat on the floor covered in sweat with bloody knuckles, weeping silently as I contemplated purchasing a new engine. Apparently, Whirlpools are notorious for seizing this part to the shaft (particularly if you're an idiot who runs it when its broken). According to one youtuber, some appliance repair techs will NOT replace this part due to what a pain it is to get the old one off. I, however, being poor and stubborn - refused to sacrifice the barely used engine. The next day, with new found rage in my heart, I chisleed the old wheel apart, freeing the engine from the machine so I didn't have to lay on the ground to work on it. Half a can of WD40, a workbench mounted vice clamp, several rotations of putting the engine in the freezer and then hitting it was a heat gun (look, I was depserate and thought maybe it would be like a pickle jar), all of the strength I posess, and every curse word I know later - I finally got the old one off. The replacement took approximately 19 seconds to reinstall. After 24 hours of battle, it took another 10 minutes to put the machine back together and start the laundry-palooza I've been doing nonstop for days now. Before you commit to this DIY product, I encourage you to purchase at least a 24 pack of your favorite beer. Maybe put your therapist on standby too. Check out youtube videos of what happens when it's seized. Light some candles and pray to whatever God you believe in while you're at it. May the odds be ever in your favor.

This is an “exact” replacement. It fit my old dryer and easily screwed on the shaft. It’s reverse thread. Although this part wasn’t broken initially, I needed a new one when replacing the motor which was an exact replacement per part #. IF you’re looking to repair an old dryer, YT this replacement before googling motor replacement, it’ll help. Also, if you replaced the dryer belt tensioner and it’s making noise Again, the newer ones aren’t long lasting. You’ll see many options for multi packs and that’s why. I replaced one on the same dryer with a modern replacement and it lasted less than a year. Removing the fan wheel on an older unit will require destroying it. If your fan wheel actually broke, you may need a new motor depending on your skills and tool availability. I’m sure my mid 90s dryer will last another 20 years now.

Fit perfect. Good price. Removing the old blower wheel was the most difficult part.
