Makita XNB02Z 18V LXT Straight Finish Nailer, 16 Gauge, 2-1/2"

Great finish gun, just a little heavy and bulky. I purchased no brand finish nails and I had the same issues others had like blank shots and nails don't go all the way. But when I purchased porter-cable, it works fine, no issues at all.

30 years of carpentry and I’ve never had a worse finish nailer! It jams every 4th or 5th fastener when it doesn’t just misfire and shoot no nail at all (yes I’m using the correct 16ga fastener)! On top of all that, it’s bulky making it impossible for tight areas and nearly demands an exact straight on angle or it misfires and jams even easier. I’d give it zero stars but the review doesn’t allow for it.

I have had it for a little while now and have used it a few times and can saw im glad I bought it. Its perfect for small projects and could probably hold its own on a bigger project has well. I would recommend this nailer.

Got it today and tested: it does not drive any nails; it misfires all the time. Maybe I got a defective item? I decide to return it for replacement. This review will be updated when I get a replacement. I love Amazon Prime defective item replacement policy - it just works! Review update: few days later received replacement Makita Finish Nailer, seems like it is working fine. So, this mean that Makita has some quality control issues. I have put around 300 nails size 2 1/2" - only one time was misfire. Also noticed that gun will stop working when all nails are used except the last 7 nails in magazine. I also noticed that the dial for regulating nails head deepness is not working very well: I have dialed it all the way to the limit to drive nail’s head as deep as possible into the wood but still have some nails with head above the wood panel's surface, so I must use a small hammer to put those nails heads down, not sure, but this could be another Makita quality control issue (there is a label on a tool “made in Japan” LOL), but I decided to keep the second Makita Finish Nailer. This Nailer is perfect for a small job but it is no way that it will replace my Senco Finish Nailer.

Works great

This is my first battery powered nailer and I am now a firm believer. It's a little heavy but it works really well. If you take off the rubber anti scratch nose piece it will drive the nail in further.

Bought Jun 10th 2019. Have sent it to Makita Canada twice to repair. Only miss fires when held vertically then miss fires 30% of the nails. Makita's reply direct quote "we think due to the safety settings". Yes they said "we think" then just sent it back to me. They took so long to return I now can't send it back. very frustrated.

Great value, super powerful..

I have not used it yet - just a couple of shots to test it and it seems to work great
