It is a great book for interested readers who want to learn more about Massachusetts and what unique history and stories it has. I like to look up all type of history and stories of places I've been and lived at.

Love this series of books. They make great gifts and the facts are definitely weird and unique. I highly recommend!

Purchased this as a gift for a Yankee Swap Christmas gift exchange, and paired it with a 4 oz bottle of Poopourri. The book is so cool - full of fun and interesting facts, pictures, weird stories and folklore. The Poopourri speaks for itself. I encouraged my husband to chose back the gift if he had the chance. Instead the person who picked it, kept it and hid it so no one else could swap him for it. My husband ended up with a 6-pack of lousy beer (Bud), a pack of red solo cups, and a pkg of ping pong balls. So our awesome gift was liked and kept, while I will be purchasing another one of these books to have of our own. Bottom line : get a decent gift for Yankee Swaps, not a cheesy one - and don't think you'll be able to get it back.

I like Tourist Attractions that are less travelled. This book is just that, also a great source of info about New England that I, as a New Englander, did not know. Fun to delve into at random, and come up with obscure, but important, history.

I received a book with a very worn plastic cover and a library sticker on the side. This was not disclosed. The cover cannot be removed because the book itself does not have any identifying information. Not impressed.

I really liked this book, although it was a bit of disappointment to learn that there isn't really anything that spooky about Spider Gates! ha ha I learned a lot of things about my own home state that I didn't even know, this was a great book. Each story is pretty short, so you can always investigate the stories that really interest you further on your own.

Jeff Belanger is an expert of New England oddities as well as a very entertaining author. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, as well as his series on t.v.
