The best router I ever use in my life

I’ve tested 4–5 different travel routers over the past six months, and the GL.iNet GL-BE3600 (Slate 7) is by far the best. It delivers a consistently stable connection and works flawlessly with both Android and iPhones. I primarily use a travel router to stream my son’s travel baseball games and to stay connected when I’m on the road. With other travel routers, I constantly ran into connection issues—especially when cellular signals were less than ideal. Troubleshooting was frustrating, since problems could stem from all kinds of factors. For example, with TP-Link routers, I eventually discovered they had issues with USB 3.1 Gen 2 cables, despite claiming compatibility. It took weeks of trial and error (and unhelpful support) before I figured out that swapping to USB 2.0 cables resolved the problem. In contrast, GL.iNet’s support has been fantastic. They were patient, responsive, and easy to work with. While I didn’t encounter the same cable issues with this router, I did experience a few minor bugs. Their team reviewed my user logs, quickly offered workarounds, and assured me that fixes would be included in upcoming firmware updates. That level of support gave me a lot of confidence in the product. From a functionality standpoint, the external touchscreen is a game changer. Being able to switch between repeater mode and tethering mode without logging into the app makes the experience seamless. The connection itself is rock-solid—rarely drops, and when it does, it reconnects automatically within seconds. I like to thoroughly test products before committing, and this travel router has proven itself to be a keeper. The build quality is excellent, the performance is second to none, and the support exceeded my expectations. Great little device, can run it from my Mac book

I love this unit, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Just finished my 7-day Carnival cruise, and the whole family was happy. The mobile app is snappy, and the front panel swipe-left and swipe-right functions work better than Tinder :-). Have been able to power it off a PowerBank from Anker for over 3 days without an issue. Regarding the seller, no contact was needed, and the product arrived in a reasonable time and well packaged. The built-in AdGuard function works well and is so easy to set up, as is the whole system. YouTube is your friend for how-to guides.

Ich nutze den GL.iNet GL-BE3600 (Slate 7) auf meinen längeren Reisen, die oft mehrere Monate dauern, und bin mit dem Gerät rundum zufrieden. Der Router ist kompakt, leicht und perfekt für unterwegs geeignet. Besonders wichtig war mir ein sicheres WLAN, und genau das liefert der Slate 7 zuverlässig, egal ob über WireGuard oder OpenVPN. Die Einrichtung ist sehr übersichtlich und verständlich gestaltet, auch für Nutzer ohne tiefgehende Netzwerkerfahrung. Innerhalb weniger Minuten ist der Router einsatzbereit. Die Benutzeroberfläche ist logisch aufgebaut, und man findet alle wichtigen Funktionen schnell. Im Betrieb läuft das Gerät äußerst stabil, keine Abbrüche, keine Neustarts nötig, selbst bei längerer Nutzung über mehrere Stunden oder Tage hinweg. Auch die Geschwindigkeit und Reichweite des WLANs sind für ein so kompaktes Gerät beeindruckend. In Kombination mit der flexiblen Stromversorgung (USB-C) und der Möglichkeit, verschiedenste VPN-Profile zu speichern, ist der Router ein echter Gewinn für alle, die unterwegs sicher online sein möchten, ob im Hotel, Ferienhaus oder Wohnmobil. Fazit: Ein sehr zuverlässiger und leistungsstarker Reise-Router mit hervorragender VPN-Unterstützung und einfacher Bedienung. Klare Empfehlung für Vielreisende!
