You're probably not going to finish the whole packet in one go.
Here's a simple recipe for Jajangmyeon (Serves 2-4): 1 1/2 cups pork butt, cut into cubes 1 cup onions, diced 1 cup potatoes (or zucchini), diced 5 Tbsp. black bean paste 2 tsp. sugar 2 cups water 2 Tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 2-4 Tbsp. of cold water 400 g. noodles (I used Udon) Fry the pork until golden brown, set aside. Cook the black bean paste on the same pan with the remaining oil. Add in onions and potatoes and stir fry for 2 minutes. Add the pork and water and boil until the potatoes are fork tender. Season with sugar. Lastly, add the thickener. The flavor is okay. The paste already has some salt in it. I think the real challenge here is balancing the umami. Be careful not to over season so as not to lose the black bean flavor. It's not like the other paste that I have used before where there's little to no adjustment. Sucks for me. For first timers, you'll need getting used to (the taste). Again, to finish the whole packet you'll need to quadruple the recipe, which is a lot. Good luck.

Flavor and storage
I love this product! Taste great easily stored in glass jar in the fridge 😋. Will buy again. Portion is perfect. Price is right, flavors of my memory.

Key ingredient for Jjangmyeon!
You need to fry this to use it as an ingredient for jjangmyeon/jjangbap. Once fried, it keeps in the fridge for 2 weeks. I can usually make two large batches of each with the fried paste!

Not strong flavor
Flavor wasn’t that strong.

Pricey for size
It is very tasty and it does go a long way because most recipes only call for a couple tablespoons. I gave it 3 stars for value for money because I looked on an Asian grocery store online and it is a lot cheaper. But If I had to I would buy again because I did use it several times and the taste is excellent.

made a good sauce
ordered this after wanting to try Jjajangmyeon for years, used an aaron and claire recipie for it and it turned out great. my only wish is that it was in a container instead of a pouch as it would have been easier to keep without worrying if you don't use it all. still considering it shipped to me with no issues unlike other ppl with similar products in a container its hard to complain about it coming in a poucj... a tube would be nicer tho.
