These struts fit and work well. They are slightly different from the original struts, with the hinge part at the top on the body not having a ball joint but rather a pin going through a hole. The brackets at the top are also flipped, with the "sticking out" part on the opposite side of the strut from the oem original. However, they fit properly and function well. I will monitor them to see if the lack of a ball joint causes any stress over time. The lifting power is certainly more than my run-down old units. The door lifts well in 18 degree C weather. For installation, I removed one old strut, then bolted the top end of the new one to the car body. I then lowered the hatch to almost closed and reached in to the side and threaded the lower ball joint bolt into the door. Once that was tight, I then lowered the hatch a little more until the packing strap on the strut became loose, and I then removed the strap without cutting it. This all avoided a too-long extended strut, which would have been hard to push into place. I then did the same thing on the other side. The struts have worked well now for two weeks. I would purchase again.

Easy to install on a 2013 Subaru Outback. Fit was perfect and took maybe 10 min to install after watching a YouTube video to show the steps and which size wrenches to use (10mm socket and 12mm open wrench. Seem to be working well and much cheaper than paying a repair shop to replace them but we'll see how long they last for. Cheap and easy to replace when they fail though.
