God Eater 3 - PlayStation 4

God Eater 3, while a beautiful looking entry for the franchise and an emotional story as well, is simply not on the same level as God Eater 2 Rage Burst (best in the franchise). Why? Well it seemed that they put off having an extensive story with tons of extra battles scattered throughout each rank (of which there 14), we cut it in half (to 7), decreased the length and complexity/scale of the story, and eliminated how varied the Aragami were, in place of putting tons of focus into tons of different modes (time attack, random missions, online assaults, etc).In my opinion, it felt as if all their time went into making a beautiful game and new maps and none of their time was spent on making a lengthy and fun story mode that would challenge you to use different types of weapons throughout. You can honestly get through the story here with only one weapon type and one gun (laser) here and be successful. For a game with 8+ weapon types that’s bad. Previous God Eaters had me making one of each weapon type for all the enemies. Here, most enemies go down fast even when you don’t have the advantage. Some people have suggested going solo and not having your AI players, but where’s the fun in that?Outside of that, the game does let you play a ton of it online so that’s beneficial. Felt like one of those hybrid MMO’s. I think in future entries they could add some type of gacha type of system to that or something to make it worthwhile to play, otherwise, there is no real reason to play online.Oh well, I hope they build from here, revisit what made GE2RB such an epic game (probably in my top 5 of all time) and figure out what they will do for GE4.Enjoyed my 40 hours with the game, by the way.

There lot of improvements over God Eater 2, you can tell that the developers listen to feed backs from the godeater community. The monsters are more aggressive now. They also limit custom bullets, so no more bullets spam to win. The A.I of allies are very good this time around, almost too good. If you want more challenge I recommend going solo... I heard there’s free dlc coming that would add more stories/missions. I’m looking forward to it as I do like the main story a lot.

There are very few small maps, which are re-used over and over again, making the whole thing seem like a grind.
