Didn't quite live up.
I bought this to use in a project, not to use as a replacement part. First of all, there wasn't enough protective oil on the gears, so rust was starting to form. Also, on the smaller gear there is no slot machined into the hole, meaning if you use it to drive something, only friction and pressure will keep it from rotating freely, unless you key it yourself. Aside from that, I'm impressed with what you can get for ten bucks.

One Direction
Remember that a spiral bevel gear is designed to turn in only one direction. It will slip if you try to turn it in the opposite direction.
