Q: Which is better (in your opinion) original or ranch? I hoping this is the same seasoning we used to have at school for our fries?

Original is much better, and it does not play out like ranch, LOL don’t know if they ever served this in school, if they did I would have been very happy with School lunch. OK future references, I keep a container on the table and keep a container in the cabinet, I usually buy two at once..... you pay for what you get, if it is cheap it taste cheap.

I can’t say I’m familiar with the sonic product. The seasoning is more ranch than BBQ but subtle. Good luck
