This book presents a straightforward easy way to understand the perks and drawbacks of owning a coffee shop. This is a fairly quick read, but it is very useful if you want to become a small business owner. Even if you do not want to start a coffee shop business, I think that you will find there are lessons that transcend the type of business it is.

I like this book, but is has some problems. First is that it is very short and it doesn't have the time to cover all the nuances needed for this type of business plan. Second is that it is not really a plan, it is basically a set of pointers and advice on opening a coffee shop. It is good advice and good pointers, I am not saying that it is something wrong with them, but you will need to research a bit more for the real detailed plan. Other things are very good- writing, tips, grammar and so on. It is a useful book if you are looking for something broader to start with.

Confusing title. This is not a "step by step business plan" the ones that you can fill in. It is only a series of vague and general concepts about a establish or run a coffee Store. You can find the same advice over the internet (I'm sorry for all of you if my writing english is not good enough!)

This book is very basic. There is not a lot of information on how to actually start a coffee shop business from the ground up. And there is absolutely nothing about making a business plan for one. The title is very misleading. This book pretty much only tells you what mistakes not to make in terms of choosing a location and types of coffee you will plan to sell. There are some interesting ideas near the end on how to a build customer base and retain customer loyalty.

It covers the basics about opening a coffee shop, but doesn't go into depth.

I worked as a bartender for some time, years ago, we also served espresso coffee, from all the drinks we sold coffee was the most lucrative, it was like 1:10 ratio, money invested:return. Nothing else came even close, I do not know if that’s still the truth but coffee is one lucrative business and if you are considering starting your biz coffee shop could be just the thing.

I really enjoy the little bits of information this book provided. However, it was very brief and I believe there should have been a lot more depth and research contributing to this book. I wanted MORE!

This is a great little book whose lessons can be applied to any business, key among them that you have to remember what your business actually is. For a coffee shop, that is coffee - that sounds obvious, but what it means in terms of beans, machines, and organising the workspace and environment to get a happy and efficient staff is well worth remembering. Every else comes second to the coffee - its an important second, but if the coffee is not right, then nothing is right.
