Easy to replace
Nice replacement. Also helps most Sony tvs have the side panel and the bulb is right there

Good for the price.
Very easy to replace the old unit with this new one. All parts and housing were included. If you wanted to keep the old housing, becareful when exhanging out the old bulb for new bulb to not get fingerprints on the new bulb. Picture and brightness are okay, not as good as the old unit. I will try and recalibrate the settings and see if it gets better. The bulb was replaced about 45 days ago. I hope I can get over a year out of it, but I believe it is rated for only 2000 to 3000 hours ( if you watch 6 hours or more a day, expect the bulb to last a year, if you watch 4 or less hours a day, expect maybe 2 years) and the more expensive phillips bulb is rated from 6,000 to 8,000 hours. For the price paid, it is hard to beat.

2nd time was definitely the charm!
Had to order this twice unfortunately. The first bulb we received was defective. After about 2 weeks, the picture would blink on and off and then it eventually stayed black. We could hear the tv program running...just couldn't see a picture. We figured it had to be the bulb since we never had any tv issues prior to changing the bulb. I contacted customer service and they tried to help me resolve the issue by resetting the tv. That did not work and when I let them know I was still having an issue they shipped a 2nd bulb right away. TV now works fine w/ beautiful coloring. Just like how it looked when we first bought our tv 9 years ago. Would definitely order from this seller again. I hope the bulb lasts a while. We chose them because they offer a warranty.

Pennant Races Resume
During the second to last week of the MLB regular season, I heard a "pop" and the screen on my 60" Sony went completely black. After a little research, I ordered this replacement lamp. I was a bit surprised at the full week projected arrival time since the third-party supplier is in a neighboring state, (but maybe I was simply anxious to get back to the pennant chase in 60" HD)! When it did arrive, the packaging could not have protected this fragile item and better.Very easy and fast to swap. After studying the housing, I would not recommend ordering the bulb without it. Glad I purchased the package for a few additional dollars.

Good performance on this replacement bulb
I chose this replacement bulb based on price and haven't been disappointed. I've used it for a few days and haven't had any problems. The installation was much easier than I expected. The color on the TV now is much brighter and more vivid. The performance degradation over time was more than I had noticed.[July 23, 2012] The bulb recently burned out (with no warning light, as we had on the initial bulb). The effective life of this bulb was 18 months. I'm going with the OEM bulb for a replacement, hoping for longer life.

purchased Feb. 2010
I have just placed another order to replace this current lamp. Purchased 2/17/10, this lamp did not make 2yrs. If I did the math it was likely used 2500 hours before things started to go dim. $128.00 @ the time of purchase I would say that it was over priced.Just received its replacement: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002Y0UB3K/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details, $99. I will give an update when this needs to be replaced. Also, I have yet to receive an actual "philips" brand lamp from anyone that I have ordered from.It would be nice to actually do business with honest people!

Horrible quality, worse service
I received the replacement lamp in May. It was NOT the same as the original. The lamp failed in September, after only 4 months of use (it should last 3 years). Because it was going to take 2 weeks to get a replacement under warranty I purchased a new lamp locally. I then returned the defective lamp under the warranty program and another lamp was sent to me. I didn't even open the box, thinking I would keep it until the current lamp failed in 2 or 3 years.Last month, I did open the box, and was very upset to discover that the replacement lamp was also defective. It was flopping around in the plastic housing (it should be secured), and there were loose plactic pieces in the box. Needless to say, I contacted the company to return the 2nd lamp. Two weeks ago, I recieved the 3rd lamp from the company. Once again, it was defective, having the exact same problems as the 2nd (lamp not secured, plastic pieces loose in the box). This time I grabbed my camera and took photos of the defective lamp and the plastic pieces in the box. I contacted the company again to get this replaced, but it has been over a week with no response to my two emails. In short, I've spent good money for a lamp that should have lasted several years. What I've gotten is three defective lamps. Not only would I NOT order this lamp, I would NOT do business with this company.....ever!

No Brainer
My sony projection lamp blew out on a Friday night. I scrambled on Saturday to find one locally in Kansas City area and found several from TV repair shops that wanted $175.00 to $225.00 for a new lamp. I then got online and found one for $125.00 already to be plugged in. I ordered it with regular shipping. It arrived on the following Wednesday afternoon. It is brand new as advertised and took less then 2 minutes to remove old lamp and plug in the new lamp. It's been in over a month and working great. I'm going to order another lamp to have on hand so when this one finally goes out I will have a back up. My original lamp lasted 3 years which I understand is good for a projection TV. I recommend to order online and save alot of money.
