This is genuine artisan
This is handmade and it is top notch. Attention to detail is what makes it stand out. It is fitted together like the old time barrels. All top quality materials and craftsmanship. It is expensive but not overly so compared to ceramic crocks of similar size. Ceramic is usually cheaper. All in all I would say it was a good deal. It is an investment and something to be proud of for any fermenting enthusiast. It will last many years hopefully a lifetime. I have many different size pots all ceramic. This one is the biggest by far and really shows off the fermenting room. Above all is the taste it will create from the oak. Extremely happy with the purchase.

There are traces of an unknown impregnation on the inner surface of the tub!
Traces of impregnation are clearly visible inside the tub, which is absolutely unacceptable for contact with food products!!! According to the standards for the production of barrels and tubs, it is strictly forbidden to treat the inside surface with various impregnations, oils, and the like, since the wood gives its tannins to the products that are inside! I am returning this product and leaving negative feedback.
