Lose brightness over time/bad spots in line out of box
Used these lights for 1 year and they start out great. I bought 2 150' rolls and each roll had a bad section from the start. I cut out the bad section and they worked well after that for a solid 6-8 months before another section went bad. I still had some roll left so I went to replace the bad section but I ended up having to replace the entire strand because the old strand got really dim over time compared to new. Over all I'm happy with the purchase but it looks like I'm going to have to replace these every year. I'll probably try some other brands out to see if any of them are more durable. The top rope is after 1 year and the bottom is new out of the box

2 starsThere’s a reason they give you extra parts…I bought the 150’ of Cold White Lights to put on my deck. The box contained 4 sets of power chords and a bunch of other spare parts (connectors, splicers, clips, heat shrink), at first I was pleasantly surprised for all the extra stuff but quickly learned why… you’re gonna need it! First attempt after installing 8 or so feet the lights in the first section (40”) went out. Had to start over, got 16’ completed and bang it happened again. Had to start over (thank GOD I kept stopping and checking to see if they were still working) Fast forward… 4 splices later and used all the extra power chords plus some of the splices. So then I wanted to put a row around the bottom of my 18’ pool (outside the pool on the ground around the landscape rocks), as I did before I checked to make sure they were working first which this remaining section did work so I unplugged and got to work… finished and turned them on only of them worked! It’s frustrating to put in the work only to see the lights fail again and again. I’m pretty handy and can tell you it’s not easy to fix the / splice in the new sections but it is doable. I bought 150’ of lights and ended up throwing away 75’. I’m in Project Management and Operations and work with china factories daily, the QC of this product is severely lacking. Would be nice if there was gutter clips instead of screw on

Part of it stopped working after two days.
UPDATE: The seller contacted me suggesting that I cut a portion of the lights out, however it is not at the end so that is not easy to do. In exchange for an upgrade on the review, they sent two, what they called "slightly flawed rope lights." I received these and they seem to be 100% lit. Not sure what "slightly flawed," means, but we'll see. Other than the 2 foot section that went out on the first set, the lights are lit up very well and are holding their own.A two foot section stopped working after just two days of use. It is not at the very end so it doesn’t have to do with the end connection. The rest is ok and I hope it lasts much longer than the dead portion. Also, be aware that it does NOT come with screws for the clips. Because they are very small and difficult to find, luckily I had plenty left over from previous sets of lights.

Good quality and omni-directional light
This is by far the best of the light ropes I have bought so far - and I've bought many. I use these to backlight crown moldings that I install 2" below the ceiling. There are 2 main reasons why I prefer these over the others:- these are smaller in diameter and much easier to get straight down on to the molding so they are not visible- the lights shine omni-directional, which is a big deal if you want even illumination. All other brands I have used so far are directional (as in 180 or less). It is next to impossible to keep the bright side up on a 100+ ft run. The rope will twist so I never quite get the effect the way I want it. Not so with this product, very easy to put in and it just works. Gotta love that! These ropes appear to be well made. The connectors look solid and there are several extra power cords so any leftovers can be used elsewhere. I will order more and replace some of the ropes I have used. The attached picture shows a very yellow light, which in reality looks warm white. iPhone X does not seem to handle colors very well. :-)

bright white lighting
I was looking for a bright white LED rope light, many are the yellowish 'warm' white and I wanted a continuous piece as it was being used outdoors and joints can leak etc. We purchased a home that has some lighting at the front door but nothing along the walkway to the driveway or at the end of the garage along the driveway. When guests leave after dark there was no lighting so they could see their way. We did not want traditional garden lights nor to add a bunch of wall lights so I came up with the idea to run a strip of rope lighting in a bed of white marble - the full length from the front porch to the back corner of the garage. We also used an edging product to go between the white marble and red mulch. Looks awesome. We cover the rope light with the marble rock just enough to let lots of light out but not be too bright (this is a good bright rope light) I took two of these photos at early dusk so you can see the lay out too.
