This is the right type of heavy duty dust collection hose needed for power tools such as a planer where the wood chips come out at high velocity and high volume. I had a lighter gauge hose before that was continuously damaged by the velocity of chips coming out of the planer. I had to regularly patch that hose because of holes made by wood chips. 2 nice stainless steel hose clamps come with the hose. The only negative point has to do with the packaging for shipping. The hose is tightly folded in half in the packaging which deformed the hose somewhat. Having any kinks in the hose puts protrusions inside the hose that make it more vulnerable to damage by the chips coming out of the planer. I deducted 1 star because of the damage caused to the hose by the tight folding. I ended up cutting the hose in half at that point and I may use a coupler to eliminate the irregularity.

The hose is tough enough for my small garage shop. The clamps are nice and easy.

The quality is great but it was only around 5 feet when uncoild

UPDATE: It seems the seller read my review and contacted me offering a refund. While I stand by my initial review, I am impressed by this sellers desire to make things right. I'm bumping the star rating up by one star in appreciation of unexpectedly good customer service. First it came in plastic bag, highly compressed and kinked. Don't think I could ever get it back in and if I could I think it would constitute abuse. It is not 10' long--more like 6' or 7'. True I was able to stretch it out to 10' with the help of my wife, but she is not always around when I want to work. It sprang right back to 6' - 7' when we let go of it. Then there is the diameter. I initially spent about 5 minutes trying to get it on to a 2 1/2" adapter. I gave up. I came back later and spent another 10 minutes and had some success. I sure won't need a clap to hold it on. I'd probably send it back but I'd never get it back in the package. If I had it to do over, I'd try a name brand hose like PowerTec. Don't know if they are any better--they all look pretty much the same in the pictures. Guess I'll keep it because I really only needed and 8' hose to begin with. Also, once I get it on the adapters on both ends I don't expect to ever need to get it off.

Well, it kind of is. The factors that made this my top selection were, in no certain order: • Clear plastic - if there is a clog I can easily see where the sawdust is backing up • Flexibility - they are all pretty much the same here • Price for length - this was pretty close to the least expensive • No-Tool clamps - I like the finger tabs on the clamps because I don't have to go searching for a tool I expect to replace the tubing when I have dragged the thing all over my garage shop for several months. Without paying a premium for a fully rubberized outer ring over the steel coil the full expectation is that the hose edges will eventually wear down and leak. An epoxy floor will be easier on the hose than a cement floor which is just a rougher surface. Since shop layouts change and iterate over time, I may end up with a hanging system over part of the shop which will, of course, affect wear and tear on the hose.
