For the price, you cannot get anything better
Out the box it was easy to assemble, just follow the instructions. Yeah, the back rubber foot is not attached, its installed after you screw in the stem. Just follow the instructions. My first sharpening attempt, the edge came out wonky, uneven. Then I read the instructions. It walks you through how to properly line up the blade for this unit and boom! I got an even, razor sharp edge. The 3 stones are pretty ok. I'm on my 5th knife and still getting good results.I've bought a few other sharpening sets that simply sucked. Some were not engineered well and awkward to use, hard to get a consistent angle, too weak and will either break or can't hold a blade. This Fino sharpener is all metal (except the stone holder) , heavy and wide base, strong blade grip, and easy angle set up. I could not be happier with this find. Hope this helps

Decent And Worth The Money
Overall, I have recommended this to my friends and family. For $40, it is a good sharpener. Having said that, there are a few limitations. I have been using it for a year now and have sharpened/resharpened most of my knives. A couple of things to consider are:1. The angle is not the same when the holding bracket is rotated from one side to another. It is off by about 1 degree on mine, which increases depending on how the knife spine was ground. For most knives, this doesn't matter, it is just something I noticed.2. The stone grit is not accurate to the description. In order, I use yellow, orange, then finish with the black stone, if I go that high. The stones have worn in well and also work for quick for quick hand touch up.3. The angle markings on the back are arbitrary. The knife width and how deep you mount it matters. Buy a digital angle finder and measure on top of the guide rod. Once you get use to it, specifically replicating angles, it is a pretty decent. For fun I sharpened a butter knife that would shave. Because of the angle deviation I won't put high dollar or collectables knives in it. However, for the kitchen knives, hunting knives, utility knives, and daily carry knives that I actually use, it is very good and worth the money.

Great sharpener, trust my research and experience and just buy it!
This product works great. The heavy base is great to keep everything stable and consistent. The bearing slide does a good job of keeping the blade sharpening angle consistent, unlike the wobbly slot design of a comparable popular brand of controlled angle sharpener. The diamond sharpening stones work well, and the 3 grits are sufficient for my needs. Some reviews mention replacement stones can be ordered direct from Fino edge. The angle adjustability is great. this utilises a set screw to get the angle exactlywhere you want; you aren't stuck to a set number of pre-prescribed anlges. Pro tip: to match an existing angle, take a sharpie and color the bevel on your knife. Using the fine grit stone, set the angle where it looks "about right" and take a couple strokes. If sharpie is showing near the back of the bevel, reduce the angle. If sharpie is showing near the front edge of the blade, increase the angle. I keep a notepad in the box with each knife listed on where/how I clamped it and what angle I set it at for ease of re-sharpening.In a couple hours time, I sharpened all my hunting knives and arrow broadheads shaving sharp. If you're on the fence, take my hours of online searching and actual experience with this setup and just buy it.

Pros and Cons
PROS, Tried many sharpeners including electric ws belt style, electric, freehand, grinder, none worked or I just wasn't skilled enough plus my knife is very hard steel. This sharpener made it razor sharp. Well made, easy to use, well worth $$.Cons, The slide in pole with degree angles on it didn't fit in the hole. I Dremeled the hole out so it would slide in, I would like to see replacement stones, I can only find discontinued but still sold kme stones that fit for now. For the user that says the rubber foot doesnt fit, read directions! It goes on upside down, screw does not fit through it on purpose.

Sharpener
Stones are small and that requires many short strokes. The angle also varies as the stone moves across the blade. In theory it looked great but did not meet my expectations. I was attracted to the low price but now looking at a better sharpener with a larger investment.

I'm impressed! I should have had a tool like this years ago...
I've always sharpened my knives by hand, with a whetstone or diamond stone or rod. I've never had a problem getting a pretty sharp edge but I've always recognized that by hand it's almost impossible to always keep the same sharpening angle and so your knife edge is convex instead of flat. This tool easily keeps the same angle and it gives good results, and even sharper, in less time than I could do it by hand.If you have many knives as I do it may be worthwhile to keep a record of sharpening angle for each one, just to make things a bit easier each time you sharpen. For the $43 it is definitely worth it. It's easy to set up and use. One thing lacking is any kind of storage for the 3 diamond whetstones. Not a deal breaker but nice to have.I would buy this again. And maybe even consider buying a more expensive unit, this one works quite well and I imagine a higher-quality unit would give even better results - but this one is quite good for the money in my opinion.
