Rugged fashion back pack work or play, multiple compartments

I paid $450+ for a used and damaged backpack.
Well...at first glance, I assumed the backpack was used/returned. It seemed flat and dull. Didn’t have that new leather smell or appearance. I opened it, to discover literature unrelated to FRYE not anything relevant. Apparently left from the previous customer. Further inspection revealed a missing rivot on the bags left side. I don’t complain a lot, but this really disappointed me, that I would spend $450+ for a product that was returned by a previous customer and damaged without being inspected by Amazon. I intend to buy a second bag and hopefully will have better results and a different review. BTW...the only indication this is a FRYE product, is a small stitched logo inside the backpack. I’m really disappointed

Genuine, quality leather backpack. I love it.
I was looking for an all-leather backpack that a could fit a 15" MacBook Pro, so this fit the bill.I love the color and feel of the leather (I got the dark brown), and the quality is outstanding. There is plenty of room to fit all sorts of items with two main compartments. It's clear that Frye did not skimp on the back or straps of the bag, which are made of leather as well. In some cases with other brands, they try to cut costs by using fabric on the back and straps. One other thing to note - a lot of reviews mention that the bag is counterfeit as there is no logo on the product that they received.Frye revised the design of the bag recently to have just a small stamped logo on the bottom right. If you are purchasing the bag from Amazon directly (shipped and sold), it is indeed a genuine Frye product. I've double checked with Frye in-store and looked on their website.

the bag is not worth for the quality
I have to say that this bag is great at first look. However, after two months use, it turns to be what I showed in the picture.all in all, the bag is not worth for the quality. It was a prince, needs you take care very much.

Happy with backpack
I love this backpack. It is made from quality leather. It is well made and appointed with brass-tone hardware such as zipper, stress point grommets, etc. The leather shoulder straps are padded making this a very comfortable backpack. I've had several friends compliment me on my new backpack. In response to the comments regarding "an odor or smell" all I can say is: this is what leather smells like esp when packaged for awhile waiting shipment. My advise after un-packaging is get a good leather cleaner/moisturizer and give the leather a good once or twice over to make leather softer and more pliable. I don't usually give product reviews except when product is either horrible or there is weird UN-founded comments (i.e. strange odors in this particular case). When I purchased item it was $308.24. I'm glad I purchased another because now it is listed for $447.50. It is still worth $447.50. I hope this review is helpful.

Great backpack with lots of compartments
I’ve used this backpack for almost a year now. I purchased it to replace a leather backpack that had been used until it died and couldn’t be repaired again. When I first received it, I hated it because it was stiff and so new. But after using it, the leather has softened quite a bit and has molded to wear more comfortably. The color is a beautiful dark cognac color and it has so many compartments to keep my things organized. Side pockets were too small for a water bottle, but they too have stretched to hold one. I stretched the leather by putting items that fit tightly and kept increasing in size so that it now holds a water bottle! Frye makes great products and this no exception. I no longer miss my first unbranded leather backpack and don’t know how I lived without the compartments! It’s also great to travel with and has been on 3 trips since I got it.

Great backpack for casual use...
I bought this backpack about a year ago, and I've used it quite a bit since then. This a great medium-sized bag--large enough to fit all of my files, a few books, maybe a small notebook computer in the main compartment, keys, wallet and phone in the front zip pocket and other paraphernalia in the middle pocket. l don't really use the side pockets; too much trouble to dig small items out of the bottom, and I don't really have too many larger items that would fit (and that I wouldn't mind being seen, ha, ha!) but I can see that other people might find them to be handy for some things...The leather is rugged looking with an intentionally distressed finish which I like. It does tend to scuff easily, which I don't mind--and I would think it would pick up stains readily as well (which I do mind--hasn't happened, but I recently treated it with Leather Honey to help minimize any chances of this occurring. I think this backpack is fine for the kind of every-day use I subject it to (light to medium loads and normal wear and tear) and it would also work well as a week-end bag or for other similar uses (not so much if you are headed out in the great outdoors for any length of time!)

Classy Looks, Functional, and Quality Construction....it should be....$$$
Soft, yet durable leather. Tough, smooth zippers. Every pouch is lined with fabric, and some have zippered pouches inside of the larger pouch...they're also lined . The design is convenient for getting in, and out of, and there are plenty of places to store things. The leather handle for hand-carry is well built and comfortable in your hand, and the shoulder straps are comfortable and well constructed. Frye products have been well constructed from quality material in my experience, so I have no doubt that this backpack will last for years....worth the price!

Got this backpack today 12/29/2016. It is not as advertised in picture! The bag has MISSING Frye pendant, MISSING Frye logo on the top front pocket, and MISSING Frye logo on the back. I am concerned this is a knock-off product of Frye.
