This is not skin care for newbies, this is a strong chemical peel that can cause burns on your skin in the hands of someone inexperienced.The products arrived in perfect condition, sealed tightly and completely full. Shipping was fast.HOW IT WORKS:The active ingredient is salicylic acid 20%. This is a BETA hydroxy that is oil-soluble. Oil-soluble ingredients can penetrate the skin at a deeper level than their water-soluble counterparts (i.e. AHA alpha hydroxy acid.) Salicylic acid is also an exfoliant. It has a keratolytic medication, which means that it's perfect for deep exfoliation. However, because this solution is strong, it is advised you do not do this treatment without fully understanding how it works. It will dry out the surface outer layer of skin and slough it off. Yes, it can help when you have acne, however, it can also make it worse if you overuse it. Also, it can burn your skin if you don't neutralize the product after or you leave it on too long.APPLICATION:To apply, use the glass dropper to extract some product and put it in a small plastic or glass cup. You don't need much! Use a medium sized sterile makeup brush to dip into product and then sweep across the face starting from your chin and go across. Do not overload the brush. Avoid dripping product onto face or into eyes. Use even thin strokes and STAY AWAY from the area over your eyes and below your eyes. Also, don't do around your nostrils or close to the pink of your lips. That is very thin skin and too delicate for this product. Finish with a thin layer on your forehead.Now Wait 30 seconds. Yes, it starts to sting. OK TIME TO REMOVE! Avoid the urge to leave it on longer because you think it will give you faster results. That is not how this works. REMOVE THE PRODUCT after 30 seconds! This is not a peel. This is a deep exfoliation and leaving it on too long can cause burns. You do not want to leave the acid on your skin longer then 30 seconds. This is not a weekly skin care product, this is professional grade salicylic acid peel at 20%.REMOVAL:Soak a washcloth in cold water. Wipe gently across your forehead towards your ear. Rinse the cloth, do the next section. Rinse. Repeat. Do not drip cloth water into your eyes. The cloth needs to be wet, not dripping. Now rinse and repeat the whole thing again. Stay away from your eyes. You probably will still feel a stinging sensation. Now that most of the product is cleaned away with the cloth rinse your face with cold water from your hands. Keep your eyes closed. Pat dry.NEXT STEP:Now use the neutralizer. The one with the spray pump. It works to stop the acid from activating any longer. This is a very important step and you have to make sure you do it properly. You can close your eyes and spray, spray spray all over your face and under your chin with the neutralizer OR you can wet a cotton ball and go over your face multiple times. Don't forget to spray your chin and neck and anywhere you may have dripped on. (If you run out of spray, you can mix together one teaspoon of baking soda in one cup of water. Add a few drops of vinegar to the mixture and apply to face in the same manner).The Neutralizer Spray that comes in this duo is absolutely fantastic. It works quickly and is a great compliment to use with the Salicylic Acid 20% peel. A big favorite!NOW WHAT:Now you wait. Your skin will feel tight and dry. It will exfoliate over a period of days. Resist the urge to scrape at the flakey skin as you will only irritate the new skin layer below. If desired you can use a vitamin C complex with this treatment to get deeper penetration for moisture. Now let your skin slowly slough off the dead skin cells and let the renewal process happen. Skin takes around 21 days to turn over. Be sure to wear a good sunscreen when using because your skin will be more susceptible to sunburn.If you overuse a peel it will just cause more issues with inflammation, over exfoliation and dry out your skin. Let your skin slough off the dead skin cells over time. Doing a peel too often can clog pores if overused which can cause more acne or dryness. This is a once every 6-12 weeks kind of thing, not a "every week" facial care routine.Personally, I think this is also an incredible product for those with dry or mature skin who want an overall exfoliation for a fresher complexion and better absorption of their C serums and other skin care routines. Have been using this on my nose and the dark circles under my eyes. Wife was complaining about my nose blackheads so I finally decided to take action. Have been using 1 time a week at 3-5 minutes per treatment for about 6 weeks. Wife says the blackheads have gotten significantly better and I have noticed my dark circles under the eye are definitely less dark. I apply the acid with a q tip and the neutralizer with my finger.A few things to note:1 - Be extremely careful when using this for the first time, the burn sets on fast and can become uncomfortable depending on your skin. Start with 1 minute and work your way up. Even at 1 minute you will see skin sloughing off the next day.2 - Make sure you have the neutralizer ready to go before you apply the acid. For me the pump spray bottle did not work and it took an additional 15 seconds of serious discomfort to get it applied the first time.3 - The neutralizer takes a few seconds to kick in so do not wait until you are in serious pain to apply, as soon as you feel that it is no longer comfortable, apply the neutralizer.4 - It will drip if you apply it too thickly. So a thin layer is better if you want to avoid it spreading into other areas, especially if you are putting it anywhere above or to the side of your eyes, lips, or nose holes.5 - Recommend starting small and working to larger areas, again 1 minute on a small area the first week and you will see results, this is more of a marathon type of product, not a sprint.6 - Expect to see skin sloughing 24-72 hours after you use it.7 - Clean the skin prior to applying the acid, using a mild astringent like witch hazel or alcohol.That is about it. Great product that will make a difference if you use it correctly and safely.

This product is great. It helps clear your face, if used as instructed you won’t have any dryness, it might give you a burn feeling sensation but nothing major and you’ll see the difference after the first use.

I Think they filled my bottle with water. I have been very careful to apply exactly as told and I get NO sting at all no matter how long I leave it on. I am not a lumberjack with thick skin either, just an old woman trying to look better so I do not have resistant skin for anything else.I will continue using it in hopes that it might work even if it doesn't sting but won't be buying again.Update: Seller reached out to me and offered a full refund without my asking for it. Can't ask for more and I didn't even expect this. Will continue using till empty but odd that I don't feel the slightest sting at all. GREAT of the seller to be so considerate.

I was skeptical to buy this because of all the bad reviews, but took a chance because I’ve tried everything - literally everything, except this. I’ve struggled with acne (pcos and celiac) and break outs for the last 13 years as well as having very sensitive skin. I’ve only been using this for about a week and my skin looks better than it ever has. Very happy with this, and I would recommend giving it a shot. In comparison to what I usually buy for my skin, the pricing of this product is very very fair as well.

Not sure why the review options are "moisturizing, for sensitive skin, and scent". None of these are the purpose of this product. It is to exfoliate your skin's surface more than a daily exfoliator, for removing more of the top layers of skin for wrinkles and spots reduction. I think it works well. I also like that it comes with the acid neutralizer.
