I like this product. If you like to propagate plants, rinse this item good. Put a handful in the water for propagating , you will never have to change the water. The water stay crystal clear you don't have to worry about algae forming in the water.

It is a bit pricey for what you get. But I ordered it twice so I knew what I was getting and can't really ding it for something I knew. I love it and the effect on my house plants was nearly immediate. I put full nuggets on the bottom for drainage. Then smaller pieces a mix in the soil, moderately, that I fully top the soil with a layer of the smallest pieces. It works great. One thing I haven't read is advice to water a little less as this charcoal absorbs water and releases it when surrounding soil gets dry. Instead of say, watering once a week, you can go to watering about every ten days or so. Plus when you have plants that need misting the topping layer of the charcoal will absorb some of the mist keeping the humidity factor up for a while. Not for nothing, the plants look really good with this as a topper.
