Our dogs (8 yo border collies) follow a mostly carnivore diet that fixed some health problems for them, in case of one dog he no longer has seizures and for the other dog, his early arthritis and joint stiffness have improved drastically. But, in dogs, just like in people, carnivore diet kills voracious appetite. My wife had to do a tap and dance to make them finish their bowls of food. Now, with addition of this fish oil and one fresh egg per dog they lick their bowls clean! Everyone is happy now! I have tried this oil too. Smells like good fish oil, not rancid. Tastes ok too, like fish oil supplement from my childhood. Now will try to give it to our cats.

Salmon oil is one of the best supplements for dogs and cats, particularly if he or she has dry skin or allergies that effect the skin. Salmon oil is very expensive in the pet stores and one can easily spend $25-$35 for 16-24 ounces salmon oil, and higher prices for wild Alaskan oil. This product is excellent - is is fairly thick but pumps out well (I put it in a smaller pump bottle so I can put 2-3 pumps in my dogs food, who is 115 pounds). It does have an odor, but it is not terribly strong and my dog loves the smell and flavor. He will wait until after I pour his food for me to put the oil on it before he eats. Salmon oil, especially high quality wild Alaskan oil such as this product, will help to reduce flaking and dry skin on dogs and significantly enhance the sheen of their coat. Between the food I provide my dog and the salmon oil supplement, my black lab's coat is extremely smooth and very shiny - I actually get compliments all the time on his great coat - and he is 7 years old. I am told he looks like 3 year old! This is a high quality product and an excellent value for the amount you receive. I use it ever day and purchased it January 24, 2011 and I still have one quarter of the container left.

Our dogs seem to like this salmon oil. Price was great and it does not smell too fishy like others do. Will be purchasing again.

I've purchased this product for my golden mix several times. We like the liquid because she is incredibly good at picking pills (even little bits of pills) from whatever medium we try to hide them in (pill pockets, cheese, peanut butter, you name, it we tried it). The liquid makes it super easy to mix into her food and she LOVES it, not to mention it has drastically improved her coat and reduced her itching and skin irritation to virtually nothing. She's 12 now so she was definitely starting to get a dry brittle coat before we started using this product. That is all history, she's softer now that she was 5 years ago. My biggest issue with this product in the past was the packaging for shipping. The last few times I ordered this they placed the jug inside a plastic bag, then just put the whole thing into a large cardboard box with no padding. As I'm sure you can guess, I often received a bag with several tablespoons of fish oil coating the inside of the bag and the outside of the jug, which was a pain to clean up. This most recent time I received the product the jug was in a very sturdy smaller box with padding, and that box was in a large box, also with padding. No leaks, no mess, just a big jug of fish oil and a very happy dog! I highly recommend this product, it's quite a bit cheaper than the salmon oil products on the market and our dog does really well on it.
