Solo Sprayer Kit
Everything needed came with kit to do 15 year old backpack sprayer, and extras. Did have to use Roto Zip tool to carve away material to spin the pressure assembly to get the diaphragm screws out. The original assembler must be pretty skilled to horse the pressure assembly into place. Used heat gun to expand tank before beating the pressure tank down and back up in place, make sure you clock the black diaphragm lever back to proper position before fastening the twelve retaining ring screws. Not a rocket science project, overview from Gemplers U Tube was helpful to some extent, was about a one beer 1 hour-ish relaxed project. Don't let others reviews turn you away from installing this kit, you could probably trim the plastic back with a box knife (with leather gloves) instead of the Roto Zip or a Dremel tool. Would have been nice for solo to supply the spanner tool to spin the valve assembly out. I had a piece of flat bar to tighten it back in but I spun it out just using a screw driver. You could probably cut up some old credit cards trim and layer them to make a tool that would work, does not take much to spin it back into place if you lube everything up as directed.

Difficult job, watch video.
Watch Gempler's YouTube video before trying this repair. The written instructions that come with the kit are inscrutable, and many of the pieces of the kit do not appear in the exploded drawing. Also read the comments in the reviews. Several of them are very helpful.I found out, as did Mr Hebert, that the pressure cylinder is nearly impossible to pound out, but you can replace the O-ring without completely removing the pressure cylinder.Like Mr Davis, I found that the O-ring provided for the pressure cylinder is too long, and it does not stay in its groove when you try to reassemble it. I will try to contact Solo customer service to see if they can provide a better O-ring.This is not an easy repair. Consider it to be a challenge, and if you succeed, you'll have a like-new sprayer for under $20.Update: I got no response from Solo customer service after a week, so I went to the local hardware store, and they had large O-rings in 1/4" increments. I got the perfect size. I've been using the sprayer, and it works like new. But this repair was much more difficult than expected.

Prayer saver
My backpack sprayer membrane pump failed due to crack in membrane. I bought the kit and my sprayer works as new!

pumps like new
Although not exactly easy to replace, I am not as dexterous at 81 years of age, as I used to be but it was not impossible. Just took a little longer. Now have a non leaking sprayer.

Poor instructions and difficult to install
I have an old model 476 Solo backpack sprayer. The diaphragm was ruptured so I ordered this kit. The instructions that come with the kit are worthless. Fortunately I have the original owners & service manual. Dissembling the sprayer was _extremely_ difficult. I had to cut away a fair amount of the plastic body in the area surrounding the diaphragm assembly just to rotate the pump assembly 180° (as instructed so that the 12 Torx screws could be removed). I removed the pressure cylinder in order to replace the O-ring. Turns out the O-ring was too big. Solo support waited almost a week to return my call. In the mean time, I bought an O-ring from a local hardware store. I probably spent at least 4 or 5 hours on this repair. This with a lot of repair experience. In retrospect, I should have just trashed the sprayer and bought a different brand.

Did the job
Fixed my 4 gallon sprayer that was not holding pressure. Much better than 100 bucks for a new one.
