100 yd roll regular stabilizer
This stabilizer compares to SULKY Stiffy for weight and tearability. It is much heavier than SULKY Tear-Easy and is about twice as heavy as SULKY Totally Stable. I use it for paper-piecing and wish it was a little easier to tear but I'm very pleased to find anything on a 100yd roll that's at least 20" wide. On the other hand, it stands up very well to lots of handling, folding, and ironing - important for the paper-piecing sewing process on the large Roman shades I make. It tears easier if I get it started with a snip from my thread nippers. I am happy to report that the gamble I took on using this product instead of vellum paid off because this roll feeds and prints beautifully on a HP DesignJet 111 plotter. It takes ink well, doesn't bleed, and the ink stays put even when I iron it. This means it's great for printing patterns on and then sewing them out with fashion fabric.I heartily recommend this product if you want to print patterns with your plotter. For a tear-away, it's a little stiff and one wants to take care when tearing it not to rip out your stitches. Even so, I've not yet broken the polyester thread I'm using by pulling the stabilizer when I'm tearing. I have, however, pulled out the last 4-6 stitches in a straight-line seam many times so if your design permits it, I'd suggest backstitching where you'll be tearing.

Love this Stuff !
I wrote earlier that I am new to embroidery, RE: the 50-pack of bobbins .. so take this for whatever you think it's worth :) .. I have used this two or three times now and I REALLY REALLY like it ! In my humble opinion it is just the right stiffness for general applications. I'm still learning / practicing, so this is my 'go-to' backing .. I use it with scrap fabrics and it fits my 5x5 hoop perfectly, tears away perfectly... really nice to be able to reach over and just grab one sheet and set it up and go .. not have to do all that cutting and fussing .. I'm not good at all that :)If you are looking for Easy, this is it!

Too small for a 5x7 hoop
Silly me, being new to embroidery I thought 8x8 precut sheets would be plenty big for a 5x7 hoop. I didn't consider the fact that if the embroidery area is 5x7 the hoop would need to be larger to accommodate the needle/foot. These still work fine and of course I'll use them up before I buy anything else it's just a struggle sometimes to get the stabilizer lined up right on the larger hoop. In the 4x4 hoop it's great, though! As for the actual use of the stabilizer, I love it! It's so easy to clean up the back of your design once the embroidery is finished and it doesn't tear out any of the stitches when you tear it away. Definitely recommend this product...just maybe only for smaller hoops :)

Not easy to tear and remove from embroidery.
It was lightweight enough but hard to tear. It feels like it has fabric like fibers in it.

Easy to use
These 8"x8" pieces of cut away stabilizer are very easy to use. They are the perfect size for smaller hoops. The stabilizer is not so heavy to make the finished project stiff, but strong enough to nicely stitch a dense design. They are not adhesive or iron on, so they are very easy to remove and trim around.

It does not have the crispness of heavy duty stabilizer
I used it for a Christmas wall hanging. It is too soft for a heavy duty stabilizer
