I have an expensive food processor, and while it is capable of doing everything- the time it takes to assemble it and then clean it after use is quite time consuming. We usually use our electric processor for mainly grating cheese, so when I saw this one on YT, I thought why not? It’s not as powerful (obviously), as my OG processor, however this little cranker sets up in seconds and grinds cheese like a breeze. It was sturdy, and fit on my counter super easy, the locking mechanism keeps it tight and no need to worry about it slipping around. All in all, it’s great when you need to grate something on the fly but don’t want to lug out your big processor. I 100% recommend. My husband actually does our cheese grinding now when we use this, because he actually finds this gadget to be fun. Just get yourself one, it’s far more gratifying than a box grater and so much easier for daily tasks. Lastly, cleaning is so much faster, between this and my processor I own, this will take far less time to clean and put away, no doubt.

If you need a dedicated rotary cheese grater then this is the only one with 3 grater Blades. Fine, medium and coarse . All others are just vegetable slicers that have only one coarse grater blade which makes them useless as far as cheese. no more cutting knockles. it is very EZ to clean and the suction is very good. no effort to spin the handle and see the whole large block of cheese turn into fine grated cheese in less than 2 minutes.

I dread shredding cheese, and usually buy pre-shredded to save time and wrist/hand pain, as I have carpal tunnel in both hands/wrists. But then I kept seeing this same giant block of cheese on sale at my local grocery store, and couldn't pass it up anymore. I bought the block of cheese, but needed to solve my problem of shredding it. I was afraid it would end up staring back at me in the fridge every time I opened it up, and eventually go bad. I was looking for something similar to what they use at Olive Garden to shred the fresh cheese on your food, and then..... I found this amazing product!What I like about this product:It's nice and sturdy! The parts are all plastic, but they don't feel like they're going to shatter if I look at them the wrong way. The unit snaps together very cleanly with little effort, and comes apart just as easy to toss in the dishwasher for cleaning.I LOVE the suction feature on the bottom of the unit, which keeps the whole thing in place while you're rotating the arm and shredding the cheese. I shredded the giant 6lb block of cheese in around 10 minutes.The hand crank is very easy to rotate and drastically reduces the time it takes to shred your favorite blocks of cheese.What I don't like about this product:The suction cup doesn't always stick. You have to make sure that the bottom of the unit is completely clear of any particles, because any surface difference between the bottom of the shredder and your countertop will break that seal and cause it to come loose.Also, you will need to shred slower than you'd like if you don't want the barrel to get clogged with cheese. If you rotate it at a slower pace, you can still clear it out manually fairly easy, but also the cheese tends to roll out much more often when you go slower. If you rotate it too fast, the cheese goes into the barrel too fast, and gets stuck. That's when you have to take it apart and clear the clog before you can reassemble the unit and keep shredding.Overall I recommend this over any standard flat or box cheese grater, especially if you have wrist or hand strength issues.Score: 4.5/5

I’ve bought enough kitchen gadgets on Amazon to know they usually come with their share of downsides. This one managed to surprise me though.It’s really easy to use and stuck well to my counters. The biggest surprise was how easy it was to clean. I’ve also put the parts in the dishwasher top rack and they survived.I’ve used this grinder for a wide variety of things. Biggest challenge it conquered was grinding up chicken.High performance, easy to use, fast, and safe to use. I’d highly recommend this over a hand grater.

I like to buy the real parmesan cheese which comes in a block and is a hard cheese. I got fed up with having to haul out my food processor or grating my fingers on a hand grater. This item makes short order of grating any cheese, because the handle makes it easy and effortless to turn, making it as quick as any electric one. It has a slicer insert and a finer grater insert, which work equally well and are easy to assemble and clean. It can be used for numerous slicing grating applications and cleans up very easily by hand, no need for the dishwasher. The best part is that it only has a small footprint for storing, great for someone that has only limited space, plus it saves a lot of time from hauling out the food processor or the mixer and its attachments. The only downside i have found, is that it is so light weight it does not stay stuck to my counter with the suction cup that is underneath.

Update -the lock device holds down when it wants to hold down, and the rest of the time pops and unlocks so that your shredded cheese goes everywhere. Dropping to one star. Will update again if necessary.I got this because I have arthritis and needed a one-hand operation.+it does lock down well and works quickly+better on arthritic hands than the manual graters+I enjoy not hanging my hands grated every time I need shredded cheese.-every time I use this, There is cheese build up - sometimes the build up is very difficult to get out.-a faff to take apart and clean every time-a faff to store s as it does take up quite a lot of space.-pretty pricey for what it isI am debating returning this, as every time I use it, I have to pull out the bits that get stuck inside.
