Very effective
I’ve been using these for years around the barn and pasture. I’ve found they work best, attract any more flies, if hung at ground level instead of higher up. A friend who owns a large ranch with cattle advised this. Makes sense, that’s where the manure is. Yes, the smell is terrible as they fill; I change them in early morning, when the air is still and cooler. I already hung three, mid-April, and could have done so earlier— I was surprised (and grateful) at how many flies are trapped, never to breed. Each fly trapped supposedly reduces the seasonal number by tens of thousands.

These traps work!!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:The reviews were positive and I can see why. This has helped tremendously keeping the flies at bay!! For some reason the flies this year are worse than I’ve ever seen in my 70+ years!!I’ve had these traps up a little over a week and the fly problem is basically 95% GONE!!!Great product.

Great for catching a lot of flies
I purchased these fly traps because we live in a rural area with lots of horses and other livestock around. Naturally, we have a lot of flies coming in the house at certain times of the year. I was curious to see if these traps would make a difference, and I think they have definitely reduced the number of flies in the immediate vicinity of the house.I hung 5 of the 6 within 50 feet of our house. They were easy to fill and hang, and I chose places where the trap was not sitting in direct sun, nor overly obscured by branches. I should also add that I am an entomologist and have worked with lots of different trapping methods for insects, so I was really curious to see how these would work. The product states which types of flies it will attract, and they are all species that are drawn to manure, food, or decomposing matter. So, these traps won't do anything to help my horses. And yes, they are a little stinky, but you only catch a whiff if you are within 5-6 feet.Once hung, my kids and I watched them for an hour to see if any flies came it, and we did not have to wait long. Immediately, flies began buzzing around the traps, and within 10 minutes, there were at least 50 flies in some of them. It was impressive to see. They have been hung for 2 weeks now, and there are SO MANY flies in all of the traps. The coolest thing is that the one trap I placed about 100 yds away from the house out in the horse pasture. One day I saw a turkey vulture walking around underneath it in search of whatever was giving off the decaying smell. To address the primary reason for using the traps, which was reducing flies in the house, I have not seen any flies inside in the last two weeks. I don't know if it's just because of the traps, or we've just kept the doors closed, but I would definitely recommend using these, if only to see the traps in action!

Finally can enjoy our yard!
We have 4 dogs (3 that are giant breed) and a quite small suburban back yard. But with all the dog 💩 (even with frequent cleaning by a poop-scoop service), the flies are atrocious in the summer. It’s difficult to enjoy our beautiful patio with so many flies! I started using these traps a year ago & I am astounded by the improvement! I agree with the others who recommend to not look inside the bag… it’s what your nightmares are made of. However, I’m so glad all the life-cycle-of-a-fly situations are trapped in this bag instead of flying around my yard, buzzing around our head, and sneaking in our house. I’m writing this review while sitting on my patio & there’s not a fly in sight. I’m so grateful for these traps and the improvement on our quality of life as a result! 10/10 recommend! When discarding the traps, get a sturdy trash bag, leave the trap hanging, and bring the trash bag up around the trap. Through the outside of the trash bag, push the cap closed- then tie the trash bag securely and discard. And try to do it while not looking too closely inside the trap 🤢I’m glad that the bags are designed not to be transparentI gave 1 star for the scent of the product- but that’s the whole point. They are supposed to smell horrible in order to attract the flies! I don’t not smell it myself unless I’m right up on it.Thank you for a great solution to backyard flies!

I catches the flies.
It does a good job catching flies, but it smells like death. Be careful taking it down that you do not spill any. Rain fills up the bag too.

Great product. Arrived the next day.
Arrived the next day. I was surprised how quickly it came. Love this product! Works well at my farm. Saved $24 by ordering through Amazon instead of my local tractor supply.

Work great
Good value. We have horses and the neighbors have cows so there are a lot of flies. These work great to catch a lot of them so fewer to bother us or reproduce. They do need to be hung away from living areas since they draw flies and stink. These work better than other brands and are the big bags so they don't fill up so fast.
