Requires some modifications to the light fixture to work with a ballast
I bought these for a replacement on my F20T12 garage light. They seem good quality and fit easily into the existing base. They also give off a nice bright light. I have bought replacement LEDs for several tube light fittings in the past and they all seemed to be genuine 'plug & play' - no modifications required. I didn't read the small print on these. You need to change the wiring in the light fitting to by-pass the ballast to replace an older fluorescent tube. This is fairly basic (10 mins) but should only be done by someone that has some fundamental electric skills (similar to fitting a new light fixture or ceiling fan). You should also know that once changed, you cannot go back to the old tubes without rewiring again. It is really my fault for not reading the full instructions before I purchased and seeing the 'or' in between plug & play **OR** ballast bypass. Subtle, but makes a difference.

Was not "like new"
Got the " like new" and 1 of the 4 lights doesnt work. Was 4 days past its delivery window. Im going to fix it myself due to the hassle of getting more at this price. Spotty soldering. Bad experience overall

I can see now.
I converted old T12 fixtures to use LED direct wire light tubes. These worked great and used daylight bulbs to light up our kitchen. Now I can see everything so much better without damaging my bank account.

If you don’t know what a wire nut is you will need an electrician
I just completed installation of 4 tubes in my kitchen. I have under-cabinet lighting consisting of two 2ft fixtures and two 3ft fixtures. Each contains one bulb. This review is for the 2ft long bulbs. I posted a slightly different review on the 3ft bulb page. A word of caution. This manufacturer, and probably many other manufacturers, markets the same bulbs for US and foreign markets. As a result, a bulb marked as 2ft may actually be 60cm which is slightly shorter. My suggestion, prior to modifying your fixture, is to turn power off and slip the new bulb into the tombstones. If it’s not a snug fit the end prongs might not make solid contact with the tombstone(s) and fail to light. At this point it would probably be advisable to return the bulbs before making a permanent modification to your fixture. Another word of caution. LED replacement tubes only emit light on one side of the tube. Ideally you would like to install a bulb into the tombstones and twist it 90 degrees. When you do that you might find that it is not illuminating the area you wanted lit. In practice, you could get by only twisting the bulb 45 degrees in the tombstone. This is what I had to do. It’s not ideal and any vibration could conceivably cause the bulb to loosen and drop out of the tombstone. Installation involves disconnecting the fluorescent ballast. It is quick and easy but I have another warning. The bulbs ship without wire nuts. This is probably a good thing. If you don't know what a wire nut is then you should absolutely hire an electrician to do the conversion. After I converted my first fixture it took about 8 to 10 minutes to do each of the other fixtures. So, if you are paying an electrician by the hour and generously allow 10 minutes per fixture you should be able to have up to 5 fixtures modified in under one hour. I started the modification by switching off AC power at the wall switch but a safer way would be to turn off the circuit breaker. I then cut all of the ballast wires close to the ballast. I chose to remove the ballast but I could also have left the now disabled ballast in place. The fact that these bulbs have electrical connections at both ends negates the need to perform any type of modification to the tombstone(s). Single ended LED replacement bulbs would have created a problem for me. By purchasing double ended bulbs, you don't need to do an evaluation of your fixture prior to installation. The manufacturer should include stickers to apply within the fixture to warn future home owners that these are no longer standard fluorescent fixtures. I had some stickers left over from a previous project of modifying 4ft over-head fixtures using bulbs from a different manufacturer. If I didn’t have those stickers, I would have created my own warning label and taped it inside. Wiring requires you to connect the incoming black and white power wires to the tombstone(s) at opposite ends of the fixture. Since you cut the wires off at the ballast you already have red, blue, and or possibly yellow wires pre-connected to the tombstone(s). These are the wires that you will join to the black and white power wires. The tombstone(s) at one end connect to the white wire and the tombstone(s) at the other end connect to the black wire. You'll need wire nuts to accomplish this. You may need additional wire to reach each end if for example the incoming power cable is at the far end of the fixture.
