An outstanding security camera
This is a top-quality product, as are all others from this company that I’ve used for years. This camera easily connects via wireless wi-fi or wired LAN, uses internal image storage, and employs AI features to recognize, track, and record your choice of people, vehicles, and/or animals, while displaying high-definition images in full color, even at night. Its free smart-phone and laptop/desktop apps selectively display images from this and other cameras of this brand individually or in combination. What’s more, this company’s customer services are truly outstanding. They stand 100% behind their products, and respond quickly and personally to relevant customer questions, problems, and issues. My experience with security devices leads me to highly recommend this camera, this company’s customer services, and its other quality products.

Best security camera I've used.
2 weeks edit: So far this camera has been absolutely solid. Not a single drop of connection that I've noticed. It has been so good that I'm actually back here because I'm buying another one to replace my Amcrest camera which doesn't want to work correctly anymore. I currently own and use an Amcrest IP2M, a Wyze v2, and 3 Foscam R2C cameras. They all work more or less, but they are all very finnicky (especially when using WiFi). So, when I wanted to add another camera outside my house, I wanted to try a different manufacturer. My specific needs were/are: 1. An outdoor camera 2. PTZ control 3. Has RTSP so I can monitor/record all my cameras from a computer on my network 4. Has 5Ghz WiFi since I don't want to run an Ethernet cable to the location this camera is at and 2.4Ghz hasn't been reliable for my outdoor cameras. This camera seemed to fit the bill, so when it went on sale recently, I bought one. Boy, am I glad I did. This camera is leaps and bounds better than all my other cameras. I had no trouble setting it up, unlike the Foscam cameras. I also have had no problems with keeping a good connection on WiFi like all my other cameras. I initially didn't know how to get the RTSP working and, based on other reviews, was worried that maybe this camera didn't have working RTSP. But, the missing piece of info from these reviews is you have to access the camera via your browser by using the camera's IP address. This gets you access to all the settings for the camera that you can't get from the Reolink phone app. The RTSP toggle is in Settings > Network Settings > Advanced > Port Settings (Set Up). Not only does this camera have everything I needed, but it also has some really useful extras I wasn't expecting I would find useful. Things like FTP uploading, on-camera person and car detection, and auto return to position. There's also a Home Assistant custom integration for Reolink cameras that works with this camera so I can have notifications from Home Assistant when motion is detected. The only downside of this camera that I can think of is that if you have the camera hanging up really high (like > 10 feet) it probably wouldn't be able to see directly below it. The camera can't look down all the way, so if you have it up high, you might have to reorient the camera sideways or something to see straight down from a high distance. Anyway, this is already way too long, but I'm just really excited about how solid this camera is compared to all my other cameras. I'm definitely going to be replacing the other cameras with this model in the future.

excellent camera, only 1 weak point! (updated)
This is an excellent camera with generally good controls. It connects to wifi readily, and can be controlled via phone, tablet or computer. Image quality is really good (day or night). My only complaints is non-recyclable packing material. There is way too much non-recyclable plastic, and this can be remedied (this is actually the real reason I gave it other than a perfect rating). I am amazed at the tech support that Realink has: in my initial review I complained about the focus control (it was mouse click controlled), and Realink issued an update on May 12, 2022 that fixed that to a slider! Very, very impressive and responsive. This is a great camera and well worth the cost! We are using it to monitor the progress of an owl family in our tree (and to help us know when the ravens are attacking so we can run them off). As I update this we are experiencing some pretty significant winter weather, in snow country. I suspect the camera has picked up some freezing fog or snow, because it's almost non-responsive to the movement control. In spring maybe I'll encase it in plexiglass, but for now I suspect this is how winter will progress. Other than that, it's a really great camera! We love being able to listen to the wildlife outside in the winter when the last thing we want to do is open a window! Strongly recommend this device.

Had it running for 2 years setup both in and outdoors. Experienced disconnections only once which I had to unplug and hard reset, and twice which it came back online automatically. Aside from that, it's functioned flawlessly, the picture quality is fantastic, functionalities are great, app is better than most other Chinese made ones or similar price, and night vision is also amazing. Size is quite significant and weighty, but is likely the reason it's been working properly for years outdoor unlike other products that I've tried which crapped out after a year. All in all, very satisfied and bought a total of 8 so far. Will continue to buy Reolink cameras going forward.

I have several Reolink wifi cameras and they were very easy to setup and manage. You need a power point and Wifi network and the rest is easy. Great visibility in the daytime and night time visibility is good with the infrared lights. I can access and manage the cams from my phone, tablet or PC, through the free Reolink app. Very user friendly. You can backup to microSD cards or onto Reolink has an online cloud service at a marginal cost.

Product was easy to install and set up on my phone, however, after several attempts and numerous techs, Reolink support could not help me to get the hub, and cameras to work on my phone and computer via Reolink client. I would recommend Reolink products and will probably purchase more cameras for my security needs, that I will be able to monitor on my phone.

REOLINK 4K Outdoor Security Camera, PTZ Camera for Home Security, Wi-Fi 6 New Technology, Motion Tracking Person/Vehicle/Pet Detection, 3X Optical Zoom, Motion Spotlight, Local Storage, E1 Outdoor Pro So just a preface this review.. around my property I have many types of Wi-Fi based security cameras. Google , wyze, blink, and now a couple of these Reolink cameras. When blink first came out, they were absolutely groundbreaking because they were so cheap and they had relatively decent functionality, but it quickly faded because the Wi-Fi connectivity was extremely poor and only supported two gigahertz. It became super unreliable and kept missing footage. I then bought a few Google cameras thinking the expensive stuff works better.... Boy was I wrong. I then added wyze cams are on my property in specific areas and although they work fairly well, I was still a little bit disappointed with the reliability of capturing footage. The biggest Achilles heel for all of these models were the fact that it did had a really poor Wi-Fi connectivity.... They all generally only support 2 GHz. Some models for wyze and my newer gen Google cams claim 5ghz support , but they NEVERRRR connect over 5ghz. 2ghz is extremely congested around my hood and made every single camera very unreliable. I started using Reolink products starting with the doorbell. I was so shockingly amazed at how reliable it was. I decided to try a couple of these cameras to replace Google cameras. In the exact same spots, 50ft away from my house in the back yard, these Reolink cameras performed almost perfect. They are so reliable, that I can access the camera with my phone at any time no matter what. There was never any drop-in connection during my trial period of testing . These cameras actually do support 5ghz. Not just on paper but in reality. For this reason Reolink Wi-Fi security cameras are simply hands down Superior to any of the previous product I've used around my property. Connection reliability is the number one reason I'm about to scrap all of my security cameras and purchase these instead. Even if Reolink were to have lower specs of video quality (which it doesn't) than any of the previous cameras I have used, I would still use reolink simply because it actually works, it records, it tracks, it does what you need it to do without interruption. Owning tons of cameras around my property The number one frustration is something happens and cameras didn't even capture it. Then what's the point of these cameras if they're so unreliable?? Having said that, I hope this is enough to convince folks to start switching out and use reolink instead. I'm not paid to say that... It's just the truth. In terms of video quality, it is absolutely on par with with my 2k wyze cams and can any any google cam ont he market and let me just say I have all generations of Google cameras. Images are sharp and you can make out license, plates and details. Night vision is fantastic as well. You do have the option at night to also activate a spotlight if you want... But night vision is sufficient and a kind of like the stealthier non-spotlight mode. Footage is captured in an SD card. You can access the SD card footage via the cloud and on your phone app. The accessibility to the SD card video is absolutely fantastic and reliable. Again, this is because the Wi-Fi connectivity is superb and Superior to any other cameras I've used. Often cameras with SD SD card footage is extremely frustrating to access via the cloud... Very slow and sometimes simply doesn't work. But with Reolink camera , its lightning fast. And reliable. If you want to pay for subscription, you get the benefit of storing footage into the cloud so that your footage is safe even if the camera is knocked out. It's a nice option but so far I didn't subscribe. I think if they had an annual subscription for unlimited amount of cameras, I might consider. I just want to take a moment to talk about the settings because the settings are absolutely flexible and have configurations that most camera systems do not offer. My favorite setting is the exposure and Shadow adjustment. You can adjust manually the exposure and Shadow sliders so that in your space it's not overexposed, or you can bump up the shadows to get a little more detail in the darker areas. If you keep it Auto exposure, there's a slider. Adjust the exposure compensation. I don't know of any camera system that offers this level of adjustment. Another setting that I really appreciate is the thresholds sliders that allow you to adjust when night vision turns on. If you find that in your space night vision turns on too early, then you can adjust it such that the threshold is higher. Once again, I don't think there are any cameras on the market that allow you to do this. Another setting I really like is the ptz "return" where you can set your baseline cam position. You can set the time in which it returns back to the base position after it had wandered off tracking objects. This may seem fairly standard for ptz cams, but on cameras that I have , namely wyzecam ptz models, this basic functionality often doesn't work reliably... I often find the camera drifts and doesn't repeatedly come back which was very frustrating. But: Reolink ptz is smooth and repeatable. . Since this is a pan tilt zoom security camera, I'll talk a little bit about that. In the camera settings you can configure a few presets where you want the camera to go to on demand. This is good if you have specific areas you just want to see quickly. Once again it's repeatable and reliable. Once you set the base position, you are able to use ptz settings so that you can configure the tracking settings. The camera is able to track objects like animals, cars and people, which is pretty much everything you want to surveil. I was pleasantly surprised how reliable it tracks objects. The camera pans and tilts smoothly. I really appreciate the fact that you can configure this tracking in two ways: if the object it was tracking stops moving it will return back to base position. You can configure the duration of time in which it will wait for no movement. You can also configure the time in which it lost the object and reverts back to base position... This is kind of a way to say it's going to keep scanning for that object even if it didn't find it anymore.... This is kind of useful if objects appear in and out of frame range and you want it to keep tracking it for some duration of time that you can figure. It's a pretty clever , no other camera I have used offer. There is the ability to paint a no detection zone to reduce false alarms but I find generally I don't really want to use that because when it pans and tilts, a painted area doesn't make sense anymore. In terms of notification to your phone, it's fast upon detection. I find it gets a bit annoying because you get so many notifications... So you may need to play with the detection sensitivities, or simply just turn it off. I think for me I like notifications but I need to play around a little bit more with all of the different sliders for sensitivity and object size min max etc.... There's quite a few sliders and settings to tinker with so for high traffic areas you do need to spend time on this. For low traffic areas I'm ok with default settings . So I'm fairly convinced I will probably be replacing most of my critical cameras on zones with this camera. But in areas that I don't have power, obviously I have to stick with my solar solutions. I highly recommend you try One camera and just check it out. I'm pretty sure you will be very impressed. I hope this helps
